@@efficientapp some tasks get assigned to clients, in a web project it might be website copy or photo assets, for ongoing work it might be approval of ads where we start the task but then need to assign it to them for approval or just have them collaborate on tasks. We augment existing marketing teams at clients and typically have 1 person who we're interfacing with at the client.

Dude, not a go high level affiliate or customer yet, though their CRM is attractive for a tonne of reasons. I use PipeDrive, GroundhoggCRM, FluentCRM and more for clients. However, even I know GHL is not an MLM - you don't have to own it to be an affiliate. However, you are an affiliate marketer so its ironic for you to make these statements.

I used Notion for a while, but I eventually got frustrated with its sluggish performance and the constant feeling of 'insecurity'-not knowing if my notes would load properly when I needed them most. The syncing issues and delays made it unreliable for fast note-taking and task management. That's why I switched to Amplenote, and it's been a game-changer! Fast, reliable, and built for productivity without the unnecessary bloat. Definitely worth the switch!
@efficientapp

Guessing you're just using Amplenote for personal usage though, right? I wouldn't exactly recommend it to businesses who are working with teams is the thing. For individual usage, sure, I can see that.

I liked using Notion to keep data instead of keeping 10,000s of screenshots. But the fact that I couldn't access them while offline was a big issue for me, and I had privacy concerns too. I finally found a similar enough app that was both offline and online with end-to-end encryption; I didn't really need all that complicated stuff Notion had that you covered, so it worked perfectly. The software is called "Anytype" If you want to try it, it's free version allows 1 gb online storage, no limit on offline i believe.

I get what you mean but most agency owners use it for scalability. When you are at that point you don't get sucked into the "MLM" side of it. Also, when you build a platform I'll check it out. Wanna see how you can alleviate this problem.
@efficientapp
@efficientapp 3 күн бұрын
Not building a platform to solve that problem, instead building a platform to help businesses pick the right software stack for their team, because the solutions already exist, people just don't know how to find that or which to use based on their needs.

After watching this video I decided to give Motion a try. Sadly, it hasn't been a great experience as a solo entrepreneur with a more dynamic style business (don't just do one thing). I can see how Motion can work for many use cases and in teams, but it's still lacking for one person businesses - for anyone who might be reading this and work alone, just be careful of the investment as you can't get a refund, and it's not cheap
@efficientapp
@efficientapp 3 күн бұрын
Appreciate the comment! Curious to hear how it didn't work for you as a solo business owner? It's definitely better for teams as the video covers, but personally I used Motion myself for quite a bit before having a team to onboard to it, and got value from it as a solo user. When you say a more dynamic style business, what do you mean by that? Couldn't you create a separate workspace for each type of business or aspect to your business? Curious what you are landing on instead of Motion, as I'm not sure you wouldn't have the same experience using Asana or any of the other PM tools on the market?

@@efficientapp Hey :) Thanks for the question. I do a lot of different things (probably too many) with varying processes and work flows - and while I do have different workspaces for different projects, how I work with clients is more dynamic and I find "everything must be a task" philosophy quite reductionist. For instance, I use have found using forms for client's to raise a ticket for tasks they need me to address has reduced back and forth emails and gets it into my calendar very effectively - and can send automated completion emails (I've been using ClickUp for this, amongst other things) - but Motion doesn't have a native form feature. I think the calendar works well (although there is no month view which is weird and not helpful) but yeah, for me, this hasn't been a great transition. I recognise of course that all platforms come with their own strengths and weaknesses, I wish I had heard from someone like me who before I took the plunge and through money away.

I do not resell it, I'm in the luxury niche and after evaluating a bunch of softwares including sales force, hubspot, etc... ghl did most of what we needed for a fraction of the price . It's not perfect, of course, but anything lacking you can complete with webhooks and their extensive api. Just because you don't have the knowledge doesn't mean is a scam lol

We are a small publishing company that has grown to the point where we need more organization. Specifically organizing meetings and keep our teams appraised of what is happening. From what I see in your video, it appears that Motion might be an excellent tool for that. Some of my co-workers have used Monday in the past, but weren't overly happy with it. The real difference is long term renting yiu end up with nothing . Long term mortgage yiu end up with an asset . Only people who are promoting the silly rent argument are landlords who want pple to rent . Stay wise pple don’t listen to it .
@efficientapp
@efficientapp 4 күн бұрын
Lol this not the real difference. If you are in a high cost of living city, like Austin, what would cost you $12K/mo (in mortgage plus property taxes) can be rented for half that, at $5-6K/mo in rent. So what you get into higher cost of living areas, it almost only makes sense to rent, UNLESS you have enough money and want the ability to have more choice over where you're living. We are not landlords, we do not "want people to rent", we are renting right now because the math doesn't make sense at all for where we want to live. Check out NYC or San Francisco, it's WAY worse there. You buy a $4-6M house with an INSANE mortgage, or you rent. Most people rent because they can't afford to own in high cost of living areas. No one talks about high cost of living cities in this equation. Renting is the only option in many of those cases.

Just a note around meetings and the future of work. No doubt, meetings are a root cause of many issues within the workplace, as they have more than doubled in the last decade. You're right they need to be reduced for many reasons... However, all research indicates they are NOT going down at all, but on average meeting volumes have and will continue to grow between 5-10% each year, for the foreseeable future.
@efficientapp
@efficientapp 3 күн бұрын
All research is heavily skewed to enterprises, as they are the largest cohort of meetings. I can assure you that the most efficient teams are working more async and having less meetings. I would not make business decisions as a startup/SMB/mid size business, from general "reports/studies".

I loved Notion, but 2 things told me that I need to get out of their ecosystem: 1. After a whole year of the release of the Calendar they didn't update it in any meaningful way. At all. 2. The mobile app for Notion is so bad and restrictive. You can't do a lot of basic things that you can do on desktop version. No new widgets in years. Visually it's a mess. So I'm trying different apps and alternatives now.

@efficientapp

We are a software review and comparison website, sorry you feel that us recommending software to a business is "shilling". We're trying to recommend the best software based on our experience having consulted businesses between 2-200 employees over the past decade, on the best software stack based on their business needs and internal processes. So us calling out other creators for recommending a solution for potentially a business, that isn't the right solution for a business, is exactly what we're trying to do to help these businesses out. Surprised that's shilling to you though 🤷‍♂️
