While Jimmy's Stairway solo is the greatest ever, this video's narration, and narration script is one of the worst ever produced. This AI script and narration are repetitive, redundant, and say the same thing several times. Be like Jimmy. Jimmy is a real live person. Let a real live person rewrite this script. Let a real live person do the narration.

The reason it's banned in every music store... if done right every customer will stop shopping to listen. Then forget why or what they wanted to buy.

I'm 71 - First Time hearing This Song was in 1971 on my brothers 40W Tube Radio in his 49 Plymouth Coupe. It made Jimmy Pages Solo sound like a Marshal Amp. Back then I was a Sophmore in High School and drumming in a Rock Roll Band playing Parks, High Schools, and lots of Parties. We Loved Zeppelin and wanted to Learn "some" of their songs but couldn't find anyone who could sing them. So-Phuck-it - I Worked-Out Real Hard after School trying to learn everything from John Bonham + JPJones, Over & Over & Over . Neighbors complained, my Dad said Keep Playing - Best 5 Years Ever -

Here's what most non drummers don't understand, especially those speaking about his sound in this video. Bonham didn't have to hit the drums hard. They sounded like he was hitting hard because of the natural reverb of the room it was recorded in. His drums were large drums to begin with, so not much effort was needed to get that power from his drums and from that room. John also had dynamics, and knew exactly how to hit his drums in order to get a bombastic sound without having to hit like a gorilla. His drumsticks were also huge, most probably long extended 2B sticks, and of course, the big band drum set type tuning way he tuned his drums. By tuning the drums higher than their standard tuning range for the drum shells, was necessary in order to push as much air through the shell to resonate it to its fullest tonal spectrum. If you notice Bonham playing live, aside from his drum solos, his arms are in a comfortable and relaxed position, ergonomically comfortable and efficient for drumming without potential for soreness or long term injury to his upper body, arms, hands and wrists. He knew exactly what he was doing. And of course the room probably had 75% to do with the sound the achieved. Many misconceptions about him as a player. But most don't bother to notice or look carefully at how he actually played. Yes, live he was a monster, especially during his solos, but most of the time he's as cool as a cucumber..

Jimmy Page is the greatest rock guitarist ever. It's not Jimmi Hendrix. He was great, but in fewer ways. I don't think Hendrix was on Page's level of crafting and writing a piece of music with the complexity Page could. Page could see where each song should go, how to structure it with the drums, vocals, base, and lead guitar. Page is a composer and Hendrix would just jam, since he could not read music. It's not Eric Clapton. He has some great songs with Cream and in his solo career, but he is not exciting like Led Zeppelin, and neither is Jeff Beck. Beck is also a great player, but his taste is largely jazz, and for the rock fan, jazz can be tedious and lack melody. There is no one after the 70s who is on par with Page. Van Halen is not in Page's class; he was influenced by Page. He says so himself, and while he developed a unique enough sound for himself and level of virtuosity with this manner of playing, he was neither the composer or soloist that Page is. Page has many facets to him as a guitarist that all the others don't have in the amount he has, and I think that make him exciting to listen to in his recording and to watch live.

When I was in a wedding band, we set up in a courthouse for the reception so the echo was going to be ridiculous whether we liked it or not. I did a sound check on the drums and they sounded pretty much just like when the levee breaks. Unfortunately, I could not convince the band to add that song to the set… Since it was a wedding band.

This is horrible and perpetuates a myth. Everyone look up Rick beato’s vid. The snare’s echo had nothing to do with the room. It was a binson echorec.
@SeligTiles17 сағат бұрын
Page had nothing to do with arranging the microphones. This myth is debunked by Rick Beato. The engineer used an echorec.

I’ve studied quite a few of these solos, riffs whatever you wanna call them. Stairway to Heaven is a great buildup, but the guitar work in Free Bird with Gary starting on the slide and you can see in the audience how the build up was and everyone knew it was coming. Fortunately, I’m old enough to have seen both of these great bands. I saw Skynyrd twice the guitar work in most of their songs is unbelievable too.

I read somewhere that he didn't like his first attempt. recording the solo. So he took a walk for a bit. Came back and achieved perfection. Here's the thing IMO; I don't think anyone has ever been able to duplicate it...even him.

You are all wrong. Page is saying it himself. It is the area the three stories…And the Binson…trying to prove others wrong. Would you argue with page. Bar the voiceover he says Echoplex but the sound is both! Natural Reverb over Three stories and Echorec.
