Meta Knight probably tosses you a sword because he's corrupted in the sense of caring about the strongest fight he can have over anything else, much like what's implied in Super Star Ultra's mode for him. He probably considered stopping you from unleashing evil a proper emergency instead of a duel but still left a sword ability bubble in his ship right before him in Squeak Squad.

It's such a pleasure hearing how much you enjoyed the game, and I'm SO HAPPY that you noticed how much love we've put into it. I've been busy lately with adapting to my new life in Japan but I'm really hoping to continue developing more of it soon! <3

I would describe Kirby Triple Deluxe as UNforgettable, but I can see why some people might forget about it. If you look at it as a game in the Kirby series, then you might only think that this is only a game which is just there to improve from RtDL and then get improved on by Planet Robobot, placing it in an awkward position. But if you look at it from a different perspective, then it might look like a game that shines among other games. Think something like best 2D platformers, best Kirby Games, or best 3DS games, and Kirby Triple Deluxe will surely pop into your head.

Speaking from experience, Touhou is a game Kirby fans may enjoy. Touhou's always been my second biggest special interest after Kirby, but from experience I've seen that Kirby and Touhou has quite the fandom overlap when it comes down to it. Overlap that has inspired fan-art, remixes, and even fangames. Both series' are different in many ways, but they excel at good boss design with multiple phases. Both series' also have fun lore and interconnected continuity across multiple different games with villains of one game commonly becoming a friend or hero later. All that and both are cute and magical I guess and have heavenly music but a lot of games do those things. Also I wasn't surprised at all when you brought up the soulslikes. It isn't completely uncommon for me to see someone who's a big fan of Kirby and also enjoys soulslikes, but the thing is I haven't even played a single one myself. It's not that I'm disinterested in playing the games, just that I can't afford it.

I don't know if it still counts as a recommendation nowadays because I have not seen much of the latest game, but Spark the Electric Jester, an indie game action platformer series, was definitely initially inspired by Kirby and Sonic. It leans more heavily into Sonic from that start and even more nowadays, but it did have a sort of "copy ability" mechanic that I remember was cool in the first game's demo. If one fancies platformers in general one could watch gameplay, trailers and stuff and see if they're interested in jumping into it. I still haven't played them, though. The whole trilogy is on PC, but on console it's broken up in different platforms. Spark 2 is on Xbox and Spark 3 is on Switch while Spark 1 remains PC only

Klonoa needs more support, man. I Love Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series. I played the Wii version a few months ago and honestly loved it, loved seeing the differences. It has that washed out, realistic color pallete that they liked using in 7th gen (2000s-first half 2010s) games but since I grew up on that, I found it strangely lovely, even if I prefer the Phantasy version. Only the PS1 original remains to try out. I really want to do that, it looks charming, all three version look so different; then, Klonoa 2 which I love. I really really like that one. Both are just games I can replay over and over again. I find them to be super fun, super short and super sweet. They remind me less of Kirby, though. They remind me more of the Yoshi series, mainly Story and Crafted World. However, these I enjoyed. They feel like what I wanted those two Yoshi games to be. That said, however, now I know the pain of never getting a proper Klonoa 3 and possibly not having it anytime soon even now :')

Two games a lot like Kirby that I’d recommend: First, there’s “Belle Boomerang”, which has you utilizing many different abilities to traverse the levels. It also has a stage play aesthetic. Much like Whipseey, it’s not too long, with only 10 stages. (3 of those being just boss battles.) My second suggestion is one being made by my friend, that’s still a work in progress, called “Thregnar and the Crystals of Chaos”. The protagonist, a ninja named “Thregnar” who plays a lot like Ninja Kirby, travels through six different worlds to locate the fabled “Crystals of Chaos” (Fun fact: Thregnar actually did start out as a Kirby fangame where you play as a Bio Spark)

I forget where I read it, but someone came up with an explanation that makes sense for why Miracle Matter can be hurt despite its shield, but only by the element it's using. In its base form the shield blocks all attacks, but when it shifts to an elemental form to attack, Kirby's attacks of the same element get through the shield because Miracle Matter has to make the shield permeable to that element in order to express said element in a useful way beyond the shield. In other words, the shield lets the same element in because Miracle Matter has to make the shield let said element out.

@@Monke80s, I feel like Klonoa was going to be the modern mascot of Namco, with his Pac-Man emblem on his hat being a memento for Namco's past, but it didn't end up happening due to the series' low sales.

@@PKSuperStar256 Oh, I see what you mean then. Yeah, Namco as a company is all kinds of messed up, not only because of the sales, even if that played a part in Namco barely doing anything with it. Unfortunate 'cause they have really charming IPs that have the makings of becoming iconic with enough elbow grease and at least moderately and consistently successful. But alas, like most corporations, they want immediate, explosive and huge successes.

@@Monke80s, I really like some of their mascot-type classics such as Klonoa and their various arcade IPs. It's just unfortunate that since they merged with Bandai, they haven't really been focusing on them outside of the appearances in the Namco Museum series.

You have inspired me to play A Hat in Time a few months ago, very fun game (except Ship Shape that level was genuinely atrocious), very charming and a joy to play (due to my lack of 3d platformer skill, i actually struggled quite a bit on even the base game lmao) Now I'm on-and-off doing the Death Wishes, they are absurdly difficult and I don't think I'll ever beat them all :p (all worth it to fight the EX bosses tho, they are really really fun -except snatcher ex he sucks- - mustache girl ex is ny favorite, her fight is a fast-paced exchange of blows that is an exciting, purely skill-based challenge)
