Eh ! Thanks for the tutorial. Maybe i've missed something, can you have a "arm recording" with the digitone. I mean, the digitone records as soon as you start to play on the keyboard. Does it have this option ?

Such a helpfull video. I like that you explain it all so simple and make it understandable for a new digitone owner like me :) 10/10

Is there a setting that "holds" the performance mode settings when you leave the page? Like go from performance -> pattern page?
@PlayBackRate4 ай бұрын
Best Tracker series Ive seen 👏 .. Is it possible to loop parts of a pattern? Can you select/ jump between tracks quickly and or only between direct track events or between few ticks at once? (So many repetitive clicks) Can you be on the sample Trim page during playback? And how do you rate the sound quality vs the Digitakt (from sampling to filters & FX) ? .. 😎✌️

i dont agree. this is not for 'beginners'. this would drive beginners mad. its an improvisational synthesiser. you can get incredible sounds out of it. knowing how to use and sequence/loop those sounds takes practice.

@et4able lol I wasnt sure if you were going to remember me. You are welcome! I loved the song. There must have been a KZbin update because you popped up on my Subscriptions icon and were never there before or it would have made my playlist sooner! Looks like it's been a little bit since it came out. Are you still making music? Also, I'm doing well! Switched from physics to banking a while back.

@@t0conner that’s funny you think I wouldn’t remember you. Of course I do! The world of banking is not one I’m too familiar with, but I bet you’re killing it. And yes I’m still making music. There will be more releases soon. I have some instrumental tracks I will release under a different name and then a few more songs like the above with my voice. Are you on insta? I want to hear more about what’s transpired in the last 14 or so years 😆

I am a electronic music hobbyist, graphic design teacher and recent fan of your videos. I have to say I really like your videos calm style, partly due to your soothing voice. Wish you would make more, but I guess life can get in the way so I understand. PS I see you switched up the typography on your thumbnails. May I ask the name of the handwritten font on these batch of videos?

Whoa thank you!! You’ve inspired me a bit I have to say. And yeah I was busy getting a Masters degree and then making a bunch of music, but it has been on the back of my mind. I’ll get goin’ again! As to the font, I’ll check and get back to you when I’m near my computer (on my phone atm). My bro helps with the thumbnails as he studied design in school! So cool that you’re a graphic design teacher and make music too - very creative person!

That was a great tutorial and I love this thing. It was a toss up between the sub harmonicon or this. I am a violin player for my sins and I can see me getting attached to the lyre! I particularly like that minty green. It’s the same colour as the inside of a Chieftain Tank! Won,t tell you how I know that. Yes the thing is built like a tank and I like the squareness of it. I am also unpredictable and odd so the machine and I will get on fine. Thanks so much for your heads up on it and yes I join the others in enjoying your quiet considerate voice. I much prefer this to Some of the overkill OTT excitement of other presenters.

If you have an understanding how to control the Lyra then you can take it where you want it to be. It can be highly predictable if you wish. I’ve taken this thing through space and back to where I started from. Explore away without limitations 🎹

Hey thanks for the vid. I assume the new firmware song mode supersedes this approach? Also: is there a way for notes on a midi track to be recorded by the Digitone sequencer? I have midi files and I’d like the notes to be on my Digitone - then use the synth there or a connected synth to play those notes while I alter parameters. I though this video was that method :( Though it’s seem there may only need to be minor changes to this workflow to make that happen?

Anyone else think the LFO is unnecessarily complicated as far as the BPM calculation is concerned? Like I get it, but why not just have it so you can directly set increments of 1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16 etc, or turn that off and set it as a Hz/kHz value. Math :(

Yeah that balancing act between flexibility and simplicity is a tough one to get right.
