Playing this now as a freshman in highschool, french horns are where it's at!😅 Great piece.

Played this for my very first high school concert in 9th grade and when I first looked at it, I thought I'd never get through it. Looking back as a junior though, it was one of the best pieces we played!

We're about to march a version of this piece and it's very exciting for me because it seems like this will be the first year our school doesn't suck in marching band

We did it in Rockway Jr. High for Dade County Band Festival (1971) with a symphonic band of 8th & 9th graders. We also did Marriage of Figaro! Our conductor, Chuck Foster, had some brass ones, no pun intended, LOL. May he rest in peace.

I played this as a freshman west orange high and we had our spring concert recently and the freshman band played this piece and it gave me chills just hearing some of the major chords and the drums as well. Love this piece good job ucf

Back in 1976, as a 10th grade student a Coral Springs High School, we performed this song at district and state contest, receiving a superior rating. What makes me proud of that accomplishment, even today, was that the band was only comprised of 9th and 10th grade students, 34 members in all including percussion. I must say, after listening to UCF, our performance was more dynamic and precise. I really enjoyed hearing it again though.

The percussion section, mainly the snare drum, is ENTIRELY too loud in the section before the allegro.

I played this my 8th great year for spring festival with our advance band in a joint concert with my high school's symphonic band. This was one of the pieces that helped me decide to become a music major. 9 years later and I am a couple of months away from graduating with a BA in Music Education! Thank you for bringing back a great memory!!

I remember playing this song in a region band back in 2004. I played the Bari solo. This was also the year my grandmother passed away, it was an amazing piece to play. This is amazing to see and listen to again. I need to find my cd of it

Mark Iacovelli I have a similar one! we’re doing this at our spring concert, and my grandma who we called “Mom Mom” passed away because of health problems she had the last few months! And died because of a heart attack! I will be crying at the end!

Well done, but more low brass/woodwinds would have been awesome. The beauty of this piece is that there are several key points for the lower instruments, that typically don't have those type parts.
