During the hight of Tulip Mania in 1636 (yes, the same year Utrecht University was founded, Utrecht is my hometown), one tulip bulb could be worth between 1000 to 5000 Guilders. If you think the more expensive homes along the canals of Amsterdam (the most expensive homes in the Capital) would go for 30000 guilders you can see why it is considered the first economic bubble. The bubble popped February 3rd 1637

You know how we got all this Neal? We DEMANDED it from our government. I am old enough to know the old situation. After the war (WWII obviously) the Netherlands had to be rebuild as a lot had been destroyed during the war.We followed the American example and went with a car focused approach. This came with a cost, a very high coast. The number of (fatal) accidents rose each year and at a certain point we reached over 400 child fatalities in a year. We had enough. A protest was organised called "Stop de Kindermoord" (stop the child unaliving) and demonstrations were held. The government listened and started to implement better ways. It took years, we are in fact still improving, but it was effective. Complain with your government...often.....in strong wordings... or else nothing will change

I feel sorry for American families, and especially those mothers. I don't think I am far off in thinking that it won't change anytime soon for them.

The thing about the Dutch weather is that it very, very, very changeable. One minute blue skies and sunny, the next a hailstorm for 15 minutes. To be followed by brights sun, and an afternoon with continuous drizzle.

It's actually not as bad as depicted in this video, but yeah, there are those days ... But as the Dutch sayings go: we're not made of sugar, most of it falls beside of you and you can't get wetter than wet 🤣

It is pretty rare to get this bad. The thing is we are a very flat country so there are not many natural windbreaks. So when it does get very windy the results can be bad.

My DNA comes from England, Scandinavia and Nortwestern Europe (Germany and the Netherlands). So, I think I can say I am a Northsea German! :-) In the 19th century a lot of people from my tribe (The Kassing family) migrated to the USA.

tnx for the better balance in volume of the video and microphone. Just as @MartinWebNatures mentions.. a bit more treble or something would be nice.. your mic sounds a bit muffled. anyway.. keep it up.. love it.

Bruv I thought the same thing, but when you eat it the texture doesn't really feel like you're eating a raw dead thing. It's actually a really nice texture! And the taste is also nice! And it doesn't smell like the smell of a typical fish-market; its kinda odorless actually. Issguud (also while it is raw, it is *properly* cleaned. You're not eating sea-garbage hahah)

Just subscribed. Didn't know you have also this channel. 👍 great comment. Your balance of microphone and sound video is perfect no one is too hard or soft 👍❤️ little critical note: put bit more treble on your microphone

One crucial tip if you ever visit the Netherlands: DON'T stay in Amsterdam! Choose a different village or city and take the train for a daytrip. Trust me, it will save you lots of money. At least they showed 2 places outside the South- and North Holland provinces. That's 2 more than most video's do.

I notice your mic is behind your ear, I can barely hear you while the video is clear, so as somebody with hearing issues, I cannot hear your commentary , only the video. I wanted to give feedback <3

I love your video's, and now you are very busy with my country the Netherlands, you are always smiling and laughing, i like that a lot. And i am very proud of my country, because we are innovate a lot. And with only 18 million people and such a small country, we work less hours 36 hours, our GDP is still nr. 18 in the world.

I've worn clogs for many years when I lived in the polders, mainly to work in the garden and do things around the house. Easy to slip in and out of when leaving or entering the house. They're actually quite comfortable and warm in winter. I don't know whether the Keeshond is our national dog, there are quite a few Dutch dog breeds. I would accept my Friese Stabij as our national dog though ...

I agree. There's only a few really crappy cities (and compared to the US even those are HEAVEN), but you can count those on 1 hand. Basically every place in the Netherlands is amazing, it really do be like that.

Within a company you need everyone from the CEO to the cleaner, you need each other, if the cleaner was not there then the CEO cannot go to a clean toilet. If there were no canteen staff, everyone would starve, etc. so respect each other's work, because without staff you don't even have a company.. In the Netherlands you are human first.

2:18 Shell and Exxon Mobile own it and they are sewing the Dutch government for closing it. And the people who's hopuses where and are destroyed and damagaed aren't going to be repaired by Shell/ExxonMobile anymore.. They say thy have done enough for that. Millions are still living in damaged homes, can't be sold to new owners. Shell/ExxonMobile earned from 1953 to 2023 520 trilion euro's on the gasfields, but the poor companies lack the funds as so they say to refund repair money to Groningen residents.. And that is why thye sew the dutch governement now.
