[Lyrics] Each day man tastes victory, some big some small But the difference for me is you don't need to see the trophies on my wall Some men chase the American dream, of two cars in every garage But like a thirsty man crawlin' thru the desert it's all a mirage Yes I'm "Everybit As Proud" of the small things you do Yes I'm "Everybit As Proud" of you You build me up, when I'm down you wipe away my blues And when it comes to lovin' me baby, you know what to use I dress you up in romance, instead of some fancy gown And late at night you're right here with me instead of roamin' around Yes I'm "Everybit As Proud" of the small things you do Yes I'm "Everybit As Proud" of you (guitar solo) Yes I'm "Everybit As Proud" of the small things you do Yes I'm "Everybit As Proud" of you You don't need no coats of sable or expensive jewelry Cause what you've got you got a lot and baby that's alright with me I dress you up in romance, instead of some fancy gown And late at night you're right here with me instead of roamin' around Yes I'm "Everybit As Proud" of the small things you do Yes I'm "Everybit As Proud" of you (repeat/out)

Great band. Great look. The only thing I can't help pointing out is the guitar. A solid body will get the job done if you're doing one rockabilly song. But if you're in a rockabilly band, get a semi hollow. A Gretch or something. Solid body guitars were available if only just at the time but they weren't yet widely used. Chuck Berry and all those rockabilly guitar gods used semi hollow guitars.
@boppin_bennieАй бұрын
Thanks for the comment @PaulTheSkeptic, The song originally by Johnny Burnette & the R&R Trio included Paul Burlison who played a Fender Esquire/Tele but it's thought he couldn't have gotten that tone with the Fender & many rockabilly fans believe it was Grady Martin played on the studio recording, he played a Paul Bigsby solid body (not that the playing here matches his) & yes many rockabilly bands used archtop guitars but plenty played solid bodies ! Here's another from the Eightballs with a Gretsch kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqCXoaCjgMSSnKM&ab_channel=Boppin%27Bennie

Oh ,what’s up with that ? Recommended …. This is a fine tribute to Johnny and the Pirates . It reminds me of my first record collection in my teens . One day a neighbourhood friend brought some Decca 45s from his father to record it on tape . There was Johnny Kidd with ,, Please don’t bring me down ´´what a sound from England . And next treasure was Nero and the Gladiators , a instrumentalgroup from England with ,, in the hall of the mountain king´´ Not much later, the Dazzlers album from France was spinning on my recordplayer . It´s . really fun for me to listen to your channels music ,Thanx for that .
