I was eager for you to get on the freeway. I wanted to see you really rev it, but then remembered you re doing break-in miles, so good you did not. I love this bike and always wanted one since they came out. I rode my CBR1100XX on the Tail of the Dragon: def a great life experience for anyone who loves sport riding

Your age has nothing to do with anything. Just keep good maintenance going, and that thing will keep you happy. It's between that KAW and the Suzuki, the only really good choices. Yeah, for break-in, just don't lug the engine, vary your RPMs for about 200 miles. Dump the oil and filter at about 200 miles, refill with good oil and stock filter, you're ready to enjoy. By the way, I'm going on 67 years old and ride a sportbike.

I ride a 2016,im so tired of these videos showing some goof going straight and flapping his gums..why don't you take this bike on a really twisty road at speed and show how this bike carves corners. I've worn out sets of foot pegs and chase sport bikes through the twisty! For a medium size bike it handles very well!

Right on! I rode GSXR's, Ninja's, TL1000R back in my late 20's / early 30's in the late '90s/early '00s and did all that stupid stuff, wheelies, riding too fast etc. it was fun back then but glad I survived and moved onto Harley's to slow down a bit and ride safer/slower. Currently 54 years old and still have a couple Harleys (StreetGlide & Fatboy) but just picked up a Suzuki GSX-8R to have some fun and change it up a little bit. I guess it never really leaves your blood... LOL. Now I'm looking to get a ZX10R like yours or a CBR1000RR to enjoy. I want a garage full of bikes too, much to my wife's chagrin hahaha. Like you, I like to watch the young guys on KZbin and leave that stuff crazy stuff to them... I'm too old for that stuff now. Subbed!! Keep the rubber side down my friend.

Hi I have question for you: when the engine is hot (normal driving temp), did you hear any difference in its engine sound when squeezing the clutch lever? For some reason, mine does give the strange sound, when squeezing it, the engine sounds smooth but when release it fully (in neutral), I can hear the engine sounds a little rough and vibrates. Is yours like that too? Mine is 2023 ES just like yours, we bought almost at the same time :) I took it to the dealer where I bought it from, they said it is normal which I do not think so. I called Yamaha, and they made a notation about my report. If yours sounds the same, then perhaps it is normal, although I do not like to hear/feel it when the engine runs. From cold to warm, no issues. Only when it is hot . Thank's.

The answer is no. At six foot and two hundred and sixty pounds, the answer is no. I bought the twenty twenty one when the new generation came out, and I returned it back to the dealership for something else in about five days. The answer is no

I'm 40 and haven't rode a sports bike in about 15 years. I wanted something more comfortable. Tried a Harley for awhile but like you said i also thought it was boring. I now have a MT09 which is a lot of fun and very comfortable but now im itching for more power. Im also over the wind when going fast on a naked bike. Maybe i will give the zx10 a try after watching this video.

I still have my 04' FJR with 40,000 on the clock. I have kept it superbly maintained over the years, with no issues. I have completed many multi-state tours over the years; no other bike compares on the open road...And I have owned 8 other bikes over the years and getting ready to start looking for a newer model FJR, a 2016 or newer with electronic suspension, throttle-by-wire-, heated grips and cruise control. I will keep my 04' as a back-up bike and as a loaner for my oldest kid when we do road trips together! Cheers! ~ Jonesy ~

Congrats on your new FJR! I have a GEN I, 2004, with 40,000 on the clock. Absolutely the best bike I have ever owned (and I currently own four). I have done MANY multi-state tours on this beast. She is comfortable, carry's a lot of cargo for long trips, fuel efficient, extremely reliable and wicked fast. Great in the twisty's and comfortable on long straights. I am upgrading to a new FJR very soon and will keep this one as a back-up bike.

I'm also having a midlife crisis at 42. I'm very undecided between a 2024 ZX10R, S1000RR or GSXR (new one with digital display). I do agree that the ZX10R is very comfortable compared to the BMW. Never sat on the GSXR though and I don't like the 'GSXR gangster squid image'. I did notice that in my country, the insurance is cheaper for the BMW while the service is cheaper for the Kawa. Did you also compare these bikes in depth before purchase or did you simply gravitate to the Kawa? Happy after 9 months?

I’m only about 28. my opinion is, ride what makes you happy while you still can. There might come a day where your back or your knees go bad which takes that option away. Get the most out of riding while you can, I say.
