I still have my 04' FJR with 40,000 on the clock. I have kept it superbly maintained over the years, with no issues. I have completed many multi-state tours over the years; no other bike compares on the open road...And I have owned 8 other bikes over the years and getting ready to start looking for a newer model FJR, a 2016 or newer with electronic suspension, throttle-by-wire-, heated grips and cruise control. I will keep my 04' as a back-up bike and as a loaner for my oldest kid when we do road trips together! Cheers! ~ Jonesy ~

That engine has such a deep noise. Love it.

Honestly been thinking of trading my Harley Road Glide in for a Yamaha FJR. The older I get the harder it is to pick up and handle that bike.

Thanks for bringing us along on your Sunday ride. Beautiful area. You have some really nice bikes in your "stable", but the FJR1300 is my favorite.

I admit I'm a bit jealous of your ride!

Like you said, I'm surprised this doesn't get more attention. I saw one parked for the first time a couple of weeks ago and had to swing back by to take a look at it and love the way it looks. Leading me to this video as a potential purchase in the future!

I have a 2019 FJR - great bike - smooth engine and the bike does everything just effortlessly and handles well. This summer (2023) we toured from Toronto down through upper NY state down through Pennsylvania to the Shenandoh National Forest and the whole length of the Blue Ridge Parkway to Cherokee. From Cherokee we did a loop that took in the Tail of the Dragon and the Cherahala Skyway. On our way back we did rode the Back of the Dragon. I bought the FJR because its been around for years and has a great reputation for reliability and DIY servicing is very easy. It is a very easy bike to ride. The seat is the one thing I would change for doing more long distance cruising. Our FJR has the comfort seat but 300-350 miles (5.0 - 5.5 hours of riding time) a day is as much as we would want to do on the "stock seat" - in fact after 4 hours it becomes an endurance challenge.

I took my 2013 FJR1300A from PA to ride the tail of the Dragon. Loved ride down as well as the Dragon. Please see wheels thru time museum also. Your gonna love your bike.

Wondering how the suspension does on these back roads. Don’t know how the US back roads are but in Europe (France/Spain) they can be quite bad. The tarmac has potholes and some stretches will be very bumpy. I thought about a ADV but I just don’t really like them compared to the beautiful FJR.

The instruments are very basic for a 2023 model touring bike.
