Doesn't it? It's all pasture land surrounding that whole area. I'm not sure if some or all is privately owned but i hope that trail to the head stays open of a long time because its beautiful there. I literally did a double-take.

Excellent video series….fyi, here, we pronounce it the Gaff Top “suls”, not Top “sails”…..for simplicity, we just call the whole area “ the Gaff”….the names of the hills that you see are all related to the days of the old sailing ships, so when you pan around, in the middle distance you can see the Main Topsail, referring to the main mast of a sailing ship, the Foretop in the far distance, and the Mizzen Top, much smaller and not much more than a knob, is closest and can be seen when you pan to the left. All three are in a straight line, like the sails on a ship, and the Gaff, which you were on, sits off to the side, and refers to a “gaff” which is a long pole with a hook on the end used for hooking up fish out of fishing nets….

That is just a cheap seal driver i picked up at Princess Auto (Canadian version of Tractor Supply) Any NAPA, O-Rileys, Car Quest, etc.. will have those.

@@ruyguy8888 Thank you so much! Am I correct in assuming it fits completely over the shaft that drives the primary clutch assembly? Trying to set that seal flat and flush with a shaft in the way has proved difficult in the past.

I am about to replace the drive belt on my 2008 Rhino 700 because sometimes I step on the gas pedal and it takes a little to catch up. As your dad, We use it only for farm work. Sometimes I tow heavy loads with it. But since I saw your video it made me think I could also check the one way bearing for wear. So, if go that far and take it out, can I detect wear on it? Idon´t know exactly what freewheeling is, so I don´t know if I should replace it while it´s open. Please advise. (Ilive in Mexico and spare parts are hard to get, so while I open for belt replacement, I might as well check that bearing).
@ruyguy888818 күн бұрын
Freewheeling means that when you are in motion and let off the throttle, the engine braking does not work and the machine will simply coast without any engine power holding it back. That's actually the purpose of the one way bearing, is to keep the clutches enguaged as it slows to allow engine braking. It's very hard to detect wear on the one-way bearing. They are cam-shaped and do have a specific measurement of wear according to the service manual, however if you notice any sounds upon deceleration, and lack of engine braking when you lift off the throtte it most likely needs to be replaced. My rule is, if you have to dig that far into something and have a signifigant amount of kilometers and hours on the machine, you might as well just go ahead and order the part to replace it.

Those Chuck wagons could really use some wheel spacers. Like 4” per side to help with stability. Looks like a bad design from “ATV Wagon”.
@ruyguy888829 күн бұрын
It's actually a very tough trailer. These trailers have crossed NL probably 15-20 times now. This was the first year they had full sized taller ATV tires on them. they come from factory with lower profile knobbies. Much better for not getting hung up on but it was a learning curve for feeling them out with a higher center of gravity.
@KawiKvfRider21 күн бұрын
As part of this group i have been hauling this ATV Trailer across Newfoundland for 18 years. A atv trailer allows us to carry the things we need to make a comfortable camping trip across newfoundland. It has been a learning curve for sure. IF you enjoy camping out this is the way to go. There is only one important date to keep in mind , and that is the date you have to get to the ferry to get home. Have you ever said, this would be a great spot to camp tonight, we have, and we have stopped and camped overnight at that spot. If you have a motel booked you HAVE to be there tonight , OR the whole week screwed up. If you need to have a hard roof over your head every night its possible in Newfoundland as there is lots of places to stay. Enjoy your trip the way you want to.
