A valley guy Use to live at the base of the North mountain over behind Canning Now I live over by the South mountain and am trying to learn new trails on that side of the valley I been subscribed to your channel for a while now Like seeing the local stuff

If you download the Polaris Ride App on your phone, there are atv and snomobile trails shown all over that side. That would be a good start to do some exploration. If you happen to use a Garmin GPS, there is a facebook page called Nova Scotia GPX File Exchange that offers hundreds of free GPX files to download and install into your Garmin Basecamp to use on your GPS

When y’all left Kelly’s toll bridge what trails did y’all use to get down to ellershouse cause I thought all the trails from panuke lake to there was washed completely out and impassible

There has been a lot of recent work from Safety Minded and Long Lake loggers around that area. I think DNR may have a hand in getting some heavy equipment in there too since they need it for fire access.

Almost positive that’s Panuke Lake. I’ve been working up there (surveying) for months for the Protected Areas and Nature Reserve. I just drove that washed out trail yesterday in fact. It was a miserable wet day.

I Think your right, Greg. I still haven't looked at my GPS route, but I belive your correct. Most of the time i come through there its from the opposite side.

You have to take that route now, because there is a very large washout on the other main drag. It’s the one with the large, 6 foot or so diameter steel culvert that’s washed downstream. If you could get past there, you wouldn’t have to take that rough trail with all the rats and washouts.

To be fair someone else had made that tight cut around. On Boxing Day we just widened it for sxs to fit. Lol.
