Oh yess I adore the Lake District!! But I don’t really like cold weather, I adore it…when it’s warm! Rydal cave is so cool, I remember going once a couple of years ago and just outside people built loads of towers out of all the loose pieces of slate. Of course I didn’t give up til it was bigger than my sister’s 💪 And the lemon & poppysead shortbread I got from the apple pie cafe literally sent me to heaven! I also hope to hike up Scafell when me and my parents are fit enough, haha! It’s great to see you and Nelly exploring familiar places, and have a good time!

Thanks so much for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed the video! We loved Rydal Cave too and we did see many slate towers all around it. I imagine it would be lovely in the warm summer but we've only ever visited in the colder months so far. We'll have to head back when the weather warms up!

Yay!! People embracing Winter! I personally love Winter for many reasons; one of them you mentioned: it's easier to do challenging hikes in the cooler weather. The only thing that depresses me about Winter is the general sulky attitude of most people. Seasonal change is beautiful in my opinion. At the moment, we live in Southern CA, and it's actually very depressing in that there is very little change day-to-day and month-to-month. Anyway, beautiful vlog! HNY! 🎉

Hi, thank you so much for watching, and I'm really glad you enjoyed the video. This video was filmed in June 2023. I imagine the weather would also be great in April; maybe a little colder in Switzerland and the Dolomites, so it may be worth checking before planning your trip. I hope that helps and enjoy your adventure when you go!

Lucky enough to live here. Unlucky enough to see its decline, too many visitors who show lack of respect for the park. Countryside code seems to have been forgotten.

Did you know where you were in the park is where the people who Shakespeare based his main characters for the Tempest lived and it is also said that a mid summers night dream was also first performed there at a wedding.

Nice video Alex! Have you been to Goathland? It's been in a lot of TV and film productions, like Harry Potter. It's a beautiful village with a steam train station, about 15 minutes drive from Whitby (it's also on the bus route from York). Another picture postcard place I'd recommend is Hutton-le-Hole, and also Dalby Forest.

This video was actually filmed in December last year. The Lake District is beautiful year-round, but I personally love the Lake District in the winter months as it has a completely different charm of its own. It may be much colder and darker, but its so quiet and peaceful, and the weather around the mountains is really epic!

Hi, thank you for watching the video, and I'm really glad to hear you found it helpful. The levada that takes you through Túnel do Cavalo is called Levada das 25 Fontes. It takes you all the way to Cascata das 25 Fontes, but we created our own hybrid route in which we followed Levada do Risco to Risco Waterfall and then switched over to Levada das 25 Fontes (but didn't walk to the waterfall; instead, we walked the other direction, towards the tunnel, and back to the car park at the start of the hike). I hope that helps. There are so many hiking trails in this area it's really fun to make your own routes. AllTrails was incredible helpful for us to navigate.
