An excellent movie!!! The best German movie since Europa Europa (1990)! The late Swiss actor Bruno Ganz (1941-2019) gave an amazing performance as Hitler! He nailed it as Hitler! And not only did he just look like him, he became Hitler! An amazing all star German cast as well portraying their real life look alike characters! This German movie - Downfall should have won the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar for 2004!

This film was largely trashed by the critics, somewhat unfairly in my judgement. It was loosely based upon the first two Americans to summit K2, but only VERY loosely. It certainly is quite predictable and has some implausible scenes (e.g. experienced mountaineers pitching their tent in an obvious avalanche chute--I have never climbed in my life and I could see that was STUPID with a capital S), but it is entertaining nonetheless, and it has a heart-warming ending. I give it 2.6 out of a possible 4 stars.
