Growing up with Steve was just awesome. Fridays at work listening with his show buzzing about going out on Friday night. Ask Elvis was just epic, tears of laughter. Ello my friend. Hello Steve. What a loss to the radio world. There will never be another like him and the team. ❤

Ask Elvis could've got its own stand alone show. Sometimes brought me to tears of laughter. Miss The Steve Wright Show and now miss Steve Wright himself immensely. "Legend" is tossed around at the drop of a hat these days, but......

Looking back the history of Real radio Yorkshire soon as Umberto left to take the program to Century it was a great shame that the show wasn't networked. Century Northeast was available in most of Yorkshire. Century Northwest no chance due to Leicester also on 105.4. Real radio Yorkshire lost all interests not only when Umberto left but the breakfast broadcaster went to overnights and was then replaced by a strong Irish accent which was no longer fun to wake up to. Alternative the breakfast choice to wake up to was Smooth and Smooth. When Saga closed I could pick up Smooth on 106.6 FM from Nottingham and Smooth London on DAB coming from Yorkshire.

I remember this it was great for late night Yorkshire radio. Will remember the program ended in Yorkshire and was transferred to Northwest which wasn't any good as online radio wasn't popular so I could no longer listen to any late night talk programs so all that remained was LBC on DAB. Also when Umberto left Real radio Yorkshire it was then replaced by late night love songs and not long after the rest they say is history and Real radio was a dead radio station. With Real when it was on 106.2 it was close to Saga on 106.6 and this was replaced by Smooth which sounded just as good to begin with.
