Thanks for the video. Very helpful. I have one of the car so I was able to estimate where the chips are. There are the 2 near the top corners but another 2 just under the stereo top opening at the sides.

Mate you have to undo the plastic nut inside housing and pull it apart, there are about 6 ports that need to be blown out, you left all the crap in those ports. Food f thought

Good video. Never trust the connector hose that comes with these pumps. The only submersible fuel hose must be spec J39R10 or it will dissolve in the gas.

in addition to cleaning the bowl you can use a pair of long nose pliers, undo the collar at the base and completely clean under the collar.

Hey mate - thanks for the vid. I have this exact problem - and my car is stuck at a service station. I'm picking up the part tomorrow - did you remove the bash plate from underneath to get access, or were you able to access it ok. Also - I've literally filled the twin tanks which is why I noticed it. Will this be a concern when removing the hose? ie - how do I prevent fuel from leaking everywhere and draining ...?
@mrgnluke
@mrgnluke 4 жыл бұрын
Filler hose is in the rear third of the car so no need to remove any bash plates. Full tanks are a problem. If the fuel is higher than the hose level it will obviously leak out. Good luck!

Try blowing all the hidden crap, diesel fungi and water out from under the sender housing at the bottom of the filter case with compressed air and I wouldn't lay the new filter on the ground where it will pick up injector destroying grit. Genuine Toyota filters have a D section to the sealing o-ring & don't suffer distortion like the one you had & come in a plastic bag to keep them clean until the go in the filter case. Doing the fuel filter change requires the utmost attention to keeping it 100% clean.

MG B I was getting a code relating to the turbine sensor 2 inside the valve body. Subaru recommend a new valve body at $3-5k so I did some digging. Turns out the turbine sensor can be purchased separately and replaced. All up, I spend $140 on the sensor and $350 for someone to fit it.

@@mrgnluke Ok because I have a similar issue with my 2014 Subaru Forester. I have the code P0971 Pressure Control Solenoid. The dealership told me that I should replace my CVT or The valve body. 10000$ for a new CVT or between 1500-2000 valve body.I was wondering if I can find a solution like yourself.

You don't need to remove the glass or w/stripping. Use a suction cup on the glass to keep it in place up and down. Also separate that black curved channel from the regulator then remove it first. The glass is held to the regulator in four places. Only unfasten the middle two then raise the window up out of the way and hold with tape or a heavy suction cup to keep it up. I did this alone on my '03 and i'm not that clever...

Ethanol enhanced fuel maybe? It eats fuel systems and is the worst fuel back in the 70s you only put it in a rental car to save money they make a universal fuel filler hose for $12.00 In America vehicle built b4. 2005 can get damaged from the gasoline they sell us it's to sell new cars and stretch gasoline with corn alcohol. Corn farmers pushed it thru to sell their corn to make fuel instead of food and raise the price of corn altogether .that pays for all their new fancy air conditioned combine harvester equipment that funny enough runs on non tampered with diesel.
