Good video. Never trust the connector hose that comes with these pumps. The only submersible fuel hose must be spec J39R10 or it will dissolve in the gas.

Could a bad fuel pump and or filter cause the car to hesitate? No power up hills ?

Yes. I just had my fuel filter and pump replaced due to hesitation/sputtering when it hit around 15psi.

Hello friend, I have a 97 forester that has a lot of petrol smell. checking the vehicle, I realized that the smell comes from the petrol pump. Do I have to do the same?

yeah it's pretty much the same on gen 1 foresters. You might actually just need to replace the gasket around the access port. But while youre in there you should probably re-do the pump and filters as these blokes did! Good luck!
