I've never been to shobdon before, it does seem like a nice airfield to visit
@plasticpaddy1988 ай бұрын
It was the first time for me. It was pretty quiet but it might have been because it was a Bank Holiday. The guys from the gliding club were very friendly and a chap in the hanger rebuilding a plane. The have a decent size cafe/restaurant. I only had a cup of tea before I left but when I first arrived at the airfield a chap was going in and told me they do a great breakfast.
@jameshardie99148 ай бұрын
@@plasticpaddy198 I've done some research on the airfield before and the cafe is called Meg's cafe. Never seen what it looks like on the inside but definitely seems worth a visit. It is also usually busy in terms of flying most days too

I saw that helicopter buzzing my area saturday, i was wondering why it was only in the air for a short time and then immediately landed at Wolverhampton racecourse, (which is close to where i live) and then shortly after it landed, I heard a rumble of thunder, which im guessing it explained the reason as to why the display was so lackluster
@johnharvey82972 жыл бұрын
Hi James, I was talking to the leader of the parachutists about 30 minutes before the planned jump and he explained that the wind was gusting too much and they would not be able to land safely. Several planned flybys at Himley Hall and elsewhere were also cancelled because the planes could not get off the ground due to the winds.
