i believed spray foam will be good for the Attic and the Basement ceiling BUT walls should use fiber glass insulation.... basically a commbination of both

A balanced ventilation system in a spray-foamed house ensures a controlled exchange of fresh air with stale indoor air by bringing in an equal amount of outside air as it removes air from the home, preventing pressure imbalances and maintaining good indoor air quality, which is crucial because spray foam insulation creates a very tight building envelope that can trap pollutants without proper ventilation.

the issue is of course NOT the door...it is the ERV. It is NOT the HVAC Engineers, It is the dang building code minimum requirement and the poor budget on this house. You don't have this type of issue at airport departure hall or on a bullet train.

OK am I an idiot but does this guy not understand air flow? He seems to have sealed his entire house because "spray foam good" without designed his house for spray foam or accounting for any exchange of air. He even has a fireplace which will require a constant flow of air

I had no idea all the negatives. I am in ga too. I just had a tny home cabin built. Open floor 12x24 no actual ceiling using the gable style roof. It was completely sealed minus a liitle area around left side of door i will stuff something in. I worry now as had no funds for the shiplap to cover the ceiling under the roof so i used canvas for now. It sat sprayed over a month before i moved in. But now im hearing all types of negatives. My brother swears its easier and best to save money energy and all. I guess the truth is off gassing is a problem to some but many still say its not once its cured after 24 to 48 hours. Oh well. I have no choice. Ive inhaled worse. Death is inevitable....

Looking like you need better control led ventilation And also its really important to have fireplace with External air supply... Fire needs a lot of air to proper burn And Its a bit hazard to use air from your house... Personaly I would update hvac And go to for fireplace insert with External air supply... Good luck

At the bottom and top of the steps put a row of 3 flat, same length as steps - paver's give you a safe, dry, secure foot hold down and up where as wet grass is muddy & slippery and its a home for weeds, bugs and other stuff plus if you wheeling a barrow you have more control especially if its loaded

Glad I saw your video. I was thinking about putting an ERV in and was wondering if I should run the intake duct through a home made filter housing before the unit. Based on this video, if i do end up getting one I will definitely put in a filter housing before the unit.

Did you purchase a heat recovery ventilator to create makeup air for your exhaust air? I have a tight house on Long Island and I easily control my humidity with one dehumidifier in the basement. This guy did not design for humidity control. I too can not use my fireplace (it has no draft), but that is a good thing. That means I am not losing heat 24/7. It sounds like this guy is not interested in learning how to make an efficient home.

I have spray foam. You need an Energy Recovery Ventilator. You also need glass door on the fireplace provided it has an outdoor intake. Spray foam is great. I'm consistently in the 90 percentile in energy efficiency.

Hey troll.. The air in your house is now much cleaner and you're complaining?? You spent 2 months installing and that is just 'in the past', whereas cleaning a filter every once in a while to keep healthy air is too much for you?? And what is this 'better solution' you're referring to, you could have at least made this video useful by telling us about that. You're just whining..

I prefer icell. it's cellulose insulation which can breath with the house. No mold or moisture problems and it can't burn. Made of recycled fibers with a salt solution.

Kiss your stone good by, after not using fabric, after one or two yrs. My best guess is that you did not put down 6 plus inches of base., 2 1/2" plus or minus and use fines to pact every thing together.

Yanmar doesnt make any fluids, they cant deny claims as long as any fluids used are to spec, which should be listed in owners manual, all their fluids are rebranded. Same with the filters, you can also pop into a NAPA if you have one around and they will cross reference the filters for you and let you know all the ones you can use
@jrod264winmagАй бұрын
Yeah and as far as hydro fluid goes, the first time you attach another implement to the hydro system on the tractor and grab that lever your fluid is now mixed with whatever was in the hoses and cylinders

News to him..... he didn't find a good contractor. If a contractor builds a terrible house, then he's a terrible contractor. But to be so lazy that you cannot clean a few filters 4 times a year is a new level of worthless LMAO.

Spray foam under your roof deck will rot it out in no time. No way for the roof deck to dry out if it gets moisture on it.
@DeiphobuzzАй бұрын
I dont get what the problem is, you can open it without tools right? So everytime you vacuum upstairs, just clean it a little bit. Looks so easy, shouldt be more than a minute. Imagine all that junk getting in your house all the time instead. I'll take one, looks like a great unit.
@LanceProvostАй бұрын
All that was needed was a fresh air intake with a make up air intake for his exhaust. Spray foam is a superior product but does need additional considerations for fresh air intakes. Obviously, his builder wasn't up to par with building with spray foam.
