I'm watching your video because a friend of mine and my father are in the market for this size teactor. I've had my New Holland TC40D since 2003. I would definitely say adding rim guard ballast in the rear tires is a must for any tractor with a loader. It stabilizes the tractor and is way more convenient then having to hang ballast off the 3 point and it's never in the way! Plus if your really moving some weight or working more on slopes then you can add the 3 point ballast for maximum stability. Rim Guard is not crazy expensive and worth it. As far as your bucket if you can add a bolt on or weld on cutting edge that will stiffen it up and make it last a lot longer. Also on heavier duty buckets you'll notice they add an extra strip of steel up the side edges so they don't get damaged as easily like you pointed out. That will also help your bucket last a lot longer. Soooo when you get your welder brother to beef up the push bar have the bucket prepped and the steel pieces ready to welded on, it won't take but a couple minutes. If you add weld on hooks to your bucket have him put a wide piece of plate steel down before you weld on the hooks to keep from stretching and bending the steel on the bucket when you use them. Have fun, it will be one of the best investments you ever make. 20 years and 2400+ hours later and I have never regretted buying mine!

Thanks for the video man! I have 13 hours on my 325 and love it. Have 5 acres in Arizona that were building a house on. Have the loaded and 54 box blade. Very impressed with the tractor so far.

Thanks for the review. I am looking at this exact tractor or the 424 which is the same but with slightly larger tires. I tried out the 424 the other day and it felt great. The ergonomics are spot on. They do make a skid plate that protects the hydraulic connections as well as the entire under belly of the tractor but it is over $400 so I guess you need to gage how much of a problem it really is. My plan is to get it with the bucket and see if it meets most of my needs and then add the backhoe if I really need the extra reach and depth. I think the backhoe adds around $8000 to the price so I am not in any rush to add it upfront if I only need it once every couple of years. Most of my usage would be scooping out my pond from silt that fills it each spring, popping the numerous glacial rocks that we grow here in New England, landscaping, and some snow removal in winter. One of my first observations was how rugged this unit felt for the size of the tractor it is. Good luck with it.

I wish I could’ve afforded to get the backhoe. I need one because of all the trees on my property. I’ll add it down the road someday when I can.

Depends how much you use it. I'm still trying to decide myself, but I have a place around the corner that rents a mini-excavator for about $1k/week. But you can work SO much faster with the excavator. You don't have to keep stopping to move the machine. A week's worth of work is a LOT.

Nice review. You answered a lot of questions I had about this machine. You've got my sub.

Hi Brantley. I recently inherited a yanmar sa325 which had only 30m runtime on it. I really appreciate this video and I'm wondering how the tractor is holding up after 2 years now and what you think about the longevity of it. Are you going to run this into the ground or use it cautiously and sell it under a certain amount of run time?
@BrantleyBlended8 ай бұрын
I love this little tractor and plan to keep it for a very long time. It only has about 120 hours on it right now. I work it hard when I use it, but I keep it clean, greased, and maintained. I just had the plastic hood replaced under warranty. I’ve heard good things about these tractors. I don’t expect to have too many other problems with it.

I'm getting it... Just trying to figure out if it's worth the extra $1k for the big tires. I'm definitely getting a 3pt chipper,rotary cutter, Forks, a tiller and a land plane... At $900 a load of gravel and a driveway that can easily take 4 loads, I want to bring old rock to the surface.

My property is mostly wooded and sloped. My tractor now has 92 hours on it. I don’t think the bigger tires on the 425 are necessary. Ballast weight is important. I keep a box blade on the back of my tractor. It helps a lot.

@@BrantleyBlended thank you. The big tires give extra clearance. My property is flat. My final inspection convinced me to get the grapple. I had a survey done. Aparently people weren't clear on property lines. I saw survey stakes pulled up and tossed into my property. Not what I wanted at all.
@BrantleyBlended Жыл бұрын
Love my grapple! I haven’t had any clearance issues with the smaller tires on the 325. I made some trails through my woods that require 4 wheel drive to get through because of sloped and rough terrain. The 325 sits very high.

Besides adding the RimGuard ballast, they sell the weights you can bolt on. I just bought the SA425 with backhoe and pallet forks for my property. Was originally going to get the grapple but talked myself out of it. I think once I’m done cleaning up the property, I’d use the forks way more than the grapple.

A lot of people underestimate how useful the pallet forks can be.

have you thought about painting the rims like maybe red or black? I think it would make the tractor look better.
@BrantleyBlended Жыл бұрын
Black would look better than the gold, but I’m not going to paint them. At least not while it’s under warranty.

Dont know if anyone else commented but if you turn your exhaust down it will constantly be blowing up dust

I will probably turn it out or maybe down at a 45 so it blows down and out.

Put some glue around the ring to hold the boot in place.

It can’t be glued in because I need access into this area for adjustments, maintenance, repairs, etc.

Use hot glue in just a few points. It will hold and pull right off when you need to.

What kept u from getting a used skid steer for the same price as this neat little tractor Maybe scince ur brother is a welder he could fab up a little ROPS roof for u too, to stay out of sun 🤷♂️
@BrantleyBlended Жыл бұрын
I wanted a skid steer but ended up getting this tractor. A skid steer in the price range of this tractor would be used and not have a warranty. This tractor has a 10 year, 3000 hour warranty. A skid steer would be a lot more powerful, but it would also burn a lot more fuel. I can use this tractor all weekend on 6 gallons of diesel. I’m not a heavy equipment mechanic so I was pretty nervous about buying a used skid steer that might have some expensive problems soon after I bought it.
@benjaminnichols6558 Жыл бұрын
@@BrantleyBlended that and if someone is going to buy a skid I would never advise one on wheels. Also a decent condition tracked skid is going to run you more.
