You guys are doing great! I wonder how they are doing now?

The bed frame is build simple enough (though no gas struts or springs to aid in lifting it) however the sofa seat is overkill with 2x4s and not a comfortable build.

Practical which most aren’t, and more helpful than you realize. Good luck with the twins. You’ll be good for about a year and a half, then you’ll be pulling each others hair out lol. Been there, done that. Plus three that were born at home. No regrets !!!

Super cost effective way of building a murphy bed, just purchased your plans on Etsy. Great job on the build!

If you put the sofa on casters on a rail and add a reversing back rest, you could pull it out and let the bed rest on it when down. When the bed is up it could sit the way you have it or leave it pulled out and have a fold up desk and monitor on the underside of bed. Just an idea, I’ve got to build something for a very small space )) Thanks for video

First of all congratulations on your twins and the very nice Murphy bed build. I live tiny also and am in the process of building a Murphy bed as well. I’m going to add gas struts to mine because I’m old and don’t want to struggle with life. Live well and enjoy life.

thank you for the step by step video i am building the bed all most the same as you i am adding a piece of plywood under the head of the mattress so i can rise it up and i am desk that come out to taking parts from all beds and making one but your video is the mean build thank you again it a grate video

I think it would look more aesthetic pleasing if you were to add trim around the box and make the bed look like it’s cabinet doors rather than just leave it a brown sheet of plywood. You should’ve cut slots at the top that way you could’ve tucked the legs that would support the bed Inside the slots and have them fold out when you lay the bed down… just an idea, but all in all still a great build good job

I think the construction he did a great job. It looks very, very well built very solid very sturdy. I don’t like that he painted OSB board. I think that looks tacky. It would’ve looked much better if you would’ve put a veneer on it but once again that drives up the cost, and that might not be the look he was going for, the design again it’s not my choice just my opinion but overall good

Great healthy nutrition. I had twins and also used the food processor so they ate what we did. It is more work but so worth it. They were very healthy. 😊 Beautiful babies 💕

I would immediately replace those front doors. You are gonna freeze your ever loving butts off in the winter if you don't. Glass is a terrible insulator, plus double opening doors with a gasket in between to keep out sub zero temps? Yeah maybe in South Florida but not in Alaska. Plus a bear will waltz right through that door. Why do you need windows on either side of a mostly glass door? You're losing insulation and creating a safety hazard. When builders start using gold plated items in the house then you know they missed the entire point of the Tiny House movement. It wasn't minimalism. It's to get away from those 30 year mortgages costing hundreds of thousands of dollars. They're basically charging the same price but in a smaller footprint of space. While watching this video I realized the architect designed this house to be pretty but not energy efficient. Anyone who lives in a cold climate knows you don't use such huge windows (or as many) if you want to stay toasty warm and not have to sell a kidney to pay your electric bill. This is not a tiny home. This is a small manufactured home. One of the key requirements of a Tiny Home is to be 500 square feet or less.

The price variance makes perfect sense when you consider a few variables. Costco sells more than just food so they attract more customers and since they have more products to sell that means they're able to reduce their overall prices to keep those customers but still maintaining regular profits. You spend less money when you buy in bulk because you're buying what you will use in the foreseeable future, not just this week. Costco has a yearly membership fee. Take that fee from all their customers and subtract it from the cost of the items Costco sells and I bet you'll get a glimpse of what you and Costco both save yearly. Not really a fair comparison. Wal-Mart vs Costco would have been a better example.

Thanks for watching! I definitely want to do more cost comparison’s in the future but Safeway is the only grocery store my little Alaskan town has so I will probably do everything comparing to the price of safeway because that is the cost that I pay everyday for groceries.

Now that is a tiny home that actually looks lived in, you both did an awesome job, I love it, and I love how you are making it work, especially with two babies. By the way, the babies are soo precious. I just noticed the date this was posted, I guess the babies are walking and into everything, bless their hearts. God Bless you all looking forward to seeing more of your videos. 🙂

I'm not going to lie, this is a beautiful home but it would be a no for me because of the murals, accent wall, raised sink and shower tile (all the special touches), I want basic so I can infuse my own style. I would really hate to paint over those beautiful murals and accent wall, but I do respect that this is Alaska and Alaskans may love this style.
@tinyhousealaskalife8 ай бұрын
I can totally understand that perspective! I would probably be like that too if the style was not my thing!

I love your place and that but, as the babies get bigger they're gonna need room to roam around especially when they start crawling. So if I heard you earlier, you're gonna be adding on. So that will be nice. It's nice to see that you're living your dream.I'm sure everything's gonna work out and I wish you the best.God bless all of you!!

If you don't mind it a bit more runny, you can use a magic bullet. Magic bullet needs more liquid than you used.. But Way easy to blend and would pour really easily into those pouches too.
@tinyhousealaskalife Жыл бұрын
I have wondered if a magic bullet would work well!
@leslie6189 Жыл бұрын
@@tinyhousealaskalife if using magic bullet, it would need more liquid, but would then also pour well directly from the magic bullet into the pouches. would be smaller batches, or cook regular size batch and blend in smaller quantity..magic bullet is quick and easy. can only fill the vessel 4/5 full when blending... there is a max fill line on the vessel. could also pour from magic bullet into ice cube trays.. keep cubes in freezer in ziplocks. my friend reheated a "meal" for her son using a dinner plate, and 5 or 6 silicone cupcake moulds..each with one ice cube of puree . she reheated in microwave ..but same set up of silicone cupcake moulds in a pot rather than plate would work ..or silicone cupcake moulds in a roasting pan in the toaster oven for 5 mins....anyways, happy creating ..and good for you for feeding them real food instead of processed chemical filled foods
