I am a 25-year-old Indian male. I am looking for MBA course options in India and Abroad. I want to My MBA from well popular university which is my goal. And I am ready to invest 12 months in preparation for the CAT and GMAT. So here is my all journey. I completed my 10th board exam with 84% from Kolhapur University Maharashtra, India in 2015. then I got into the Science stream my subjects were Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Computer science, unfortunately, I was a little bit occupied with other bad things so I got only 59% in the 12th board exam. Then I got admitted to Aircraft Maintenance Engineering for mechanical steam in Pune. That course was designed by the director general of civil aviation in India there I completed all my college and secured an engineering degree. With all semester passing 70% on average. At this time I was admitted to YCMOU, Nashik for a BSc in industrial Science this is an Open University so I got a Dual degree. Then COVID came so for 1 year I was stuck at home. In June 2021 I went for an internship at Taneja Aerospace and Engineering Limited, Tamilnadu. There I worked on helicopters and aeroplanes as a Maintenance Trainee. for 7 months. Again I took 5 month's break. In June 2022 I went to Bangalore for a Sales consultant job that job for the NSC and BSC stock market in India. I did this for 4 months. Later I moved to another company called Omega Healthcare, that company I got the role of Account Receivable for the North California division, in this job I worked closely with the American healthcare industry. That all job is night shift job in this company I served for 11 months, and again moved to American based healthcare startup called Chatowl Inc. from Aug 2023 to till date I am working here. This is a mental health company and I am here NLP and QA job. This is my journey so far. So I am planning for an MBA, especially in USA top university and I fear that my profile is too bad, can I get admission to a top-class world-famous university with this profile? And for getting top B school what should my GMAT Score goal considering I am from a middle-class background. I want to chase my dreams but it seems impossible for me. Plz, guide me. *here is my detailed information about the internship and job. year 2021 June - 2022 Feb - Aircraft Maintenance Internship at TAAL, Tamilnadu. where I got exposure to the Indian Aviation Industry this is an Internship. after this Internship only I received my final college degree this is a must in my degree. year 2022 June - Sep 2022- Sales Consultant at SEBI registered research analyst firm in Bangalore. the year 2022 Sep - Aug 2023 -account Receivable Assistant at Omega Healthcare Management Services in Bangalore. where I worked for Medicare. Medicaid & Private insurance for State of Northern California Ambulance Service. Year 2023 Aug - to date ( 2024 Sept) working In an American Mental Healthcare Startup named Chatowl. and profile is NLP and QA. *Total Work Experience Calculation: Paid Full-Time Experience (June 2022 to September 2024): 3 months (Sales Consultant) 12 months (Accounts Receivable Assistant) 13 months (NLP and QA) Total: 28 months or 2 years and 4 months of full-time paid work experience as of September 2024.

Maybe you are a weak wokie if you’re rejecting strong applicants. What’s wrong with you? You might as well put out a job advert saying apply only sub standard people should apply.

Absolutely agree! I’ve seen how clearly defining post-MBA goals can significantly enhance your application. Research shows that candidates with well-articulated post-MBA plans are 40% more likely to be admitted to top programs. The challenge often lies in aligning these goals with the program’s strengths and showcasing how they fit into your broader career trajectory. I faced this issue too, and after trying various strategies, a friend recommended Habit10x. Their program helped me clarify and present my post-MBA goals effectively. Found them through Google.

Are applications up at some schools? I heard that some schools, especially some of the top schools, have seen a decline in applications (primarily from the U.S. Applicants). However, apps from international students have increased. Is this accurate? I heard this from several consultants.

While we do not have official numbers yet, M7s and top-ranked business schools have unofficially shared an increase in applicants. We've had a relatively equal distribution of international and domestic applicants we've worked with, acknowledging of course the fact that we work with a small number of applicants each cycle. That said, based on the conversations we've had, in terms of prospective applicants, we have seen more international applicants considering/applying to b-schools. We cannot speak to success stories on those, however.

How is AI any different in polishing grammar than hiring an admissions consultant? I don’t understand this hoopla around AI polishing applications.
@siaadmissions
@siaadmissions 7 ай бұрын
Applicants, typically, do not hire a coach to polish grammar (although that is a byproduct of working with a coach). If all you need is grammar correction, then hire an editor or use AI/Grammarly. AI will help you present what you advise the tool to structure/present, and it typically yields a high-level presentation of anything you prompt it to produce. A coach will integrate years of their direct experiences in admission to help you weave your greatest strengths with what the B-schools are expecting of successful candidates. A good coach is also going to help you see your experiences from a different perspective/lens, coach you on things you should/should not be doing, and help you dive deeper into your own experiences so you can present an authentic application (a good coach will do more than this, but these are some elements to consider).

@@siaadmissions exactly this is what I understand of the benefits one gets by hiring a coach. So, why is advent of AI suddenly a challenge for the B schools? People from ages have been seeking professional help from coaches to improvise essays and story telling, and AI, in a way, can be assumed as a remote version of a coach, although not very effective one. So why were B schools not concerned with coaches and are concerned with AI? The reason I ask this question is because you mentioned that video essays will be part of the application for more and more B schools this application cycle and the reason for doing so is because more and more applicants are using AI. I don’t understand this part

Loved the video Susan. Consulting seems to offer an army knife of skills that can be taken to other industries too. Would love to share a few future video ideas: - Post MBA careers with good work life balance, especially for folks in their 30s. - Post-MBA Careers: Tech - MBA vs Executive MBA vs Part Time MBA vs Online MBA: for folks in their 30s who want to pivot careers
