Yeah don't listen to the talking head just bc he's a celebrity. Yes mining for battery materials is still bad but it's much less bad - especially given that batteries can be recycled and renewed. To be 100% green our species would have to not exist on this planet, in lieu of that we can make choices to create less impact on the environment. The point if that we're trying, and open pit cobalt mines are just one step in the path to cleaner battery technology. But even those mines are certainly a lot better than dragging up oil and then burning it to destroy our ozone layer. It's much easier for us to fix an old mine than it is for us to drop global warming temperatures if we keep burning hydrocarbons.

I love how people are trying to defend EVs, even with proof that they are worse for the enviroment than diesals or petrols! Even if you ignore the fact there's no infrastructure, cost a fortune and ignore the millions of slaves needed to mine the materials needed... THEY RUN ON COAL 😂😂😂

American trucks just aren't really made with the type of mud y'all getting Europe in mind. Even I as an American will point that out. There are places even here that American trucks can't go. But we still love them here. I just wish we were allowed to have smaller trucks xD

Love Clarkson, but he's dead wrong here, as he often is with anything climate related. Shipping materials by sea is INCREDIBLY efficient. The damage done by mining for metals for batteries is just not even remotely close to the damage done by the acquisition and use of fossil fuels.

Most people buy them because they're reliable and fuel efficient. Not for the environment. This has gone over his head. Not everyone is a millionaire. The Prius is about efficiency and cost.

It’s easy to say when you have an inexhaustible supply of cars at your disposal. But here in a place I like to call, the real world, I just buy whatever works best for me, gives me the least amount of trouble and goes the longest for the least. I couldn’t care less about its point of origin. I bought my 04 pry-us because I needed a reliable car not because I care about saving the world. I only liked this video because I spent a week in London and saw so many of them, I started to hate them as well.
