Lovely content! Appreciate the efforts in recording all this and presenting it so beautifully! ❤ I tried planting a bulb lasagna too. In all honesty, in my opinion, I felt it sounded way cooler as a concept. I didn't like how short stemmed blooms (lile hyacinths, crocuses) looked on my tall planters. The ratios just did not look great. I love how bulb-blooms look in shallow circular bulb planters instead. It's also super convenient to tuck away a planter when your waiting on the foliage to die back. It was a fun experiment to try out once. I just did not find it worth the hype, time, efforts and planning involved in planting such easy flowers. I would not try a lasagna planter again. Just my opinion

Agreed! But it is worth trying out once or twice to see how these multiple layers work, something fascinating about existing and growing in layers! Thank you again for leaving these lovely comments, I really appreciate them!

I was gifted 4 dahlia tubers and I'm in zone 4b so I definitely want to plant them in pots so I can move them into my garage for the winter and hope they survive as we get temperatures below freezing. All your advice seems very helpful and I will try to follow as best I can. None of the products you use are available for me to purchase locally as I live north of the border, so I'll be buying similar alternatives but will follow all the other advice. Thank you for all your helpful hints!

So, once you plant the bulbs and water them in, you don't have to water them again until you see the green tops come up in spring? I have been watering mine once a week thinking the roots may have started to grow.
@containercutflowergarden2 ай бұрын
Yes, in my zone 6b/7a, we get enough occasional fall winter rain and snow that it is not necessary to water at all. I only water once and the bulbs seem to come up fine!
@simnelangton17402 ай бұрын
What a nice video! How many plants did you have in one pot? I started some gomphrena from seed, but only got about 50% germination so I have 6 little babies. Will that be enough for a pot that is 10 inches wide? Should I grow other things in the same pot? I was thinking nasturtium or alyssum.
@containercutflowergarden2 ай бұрын
Yes 6 plants in a 10 inch pot is decent, but I think you might have space for Nasturtium for sure! In the video I have about 10-12 plants, but it is a much larger container. Thank you for taking the time to comment on my video!

What gallon container do you recommend for cut flowers like zinnias and cosmos? Or the container just has to be 12-14in in diameter and not a specific depth?
@containercutflowergarden3 ай бұрын
Zinnias and Cosmos can be grown in smaller containers depending on the variety, I had good experience with about a 6 gallon container(10-12 inch height approx) with 2-3 plants of the same variety. Cosmos that grow taller will need staking. Hope that helps!

What a stunning display! I’ve failed the last 2 seasons with dahlias. I think my mistake is that I water too much in the beginning and then they end up rotting. I will try again this ‘24 growing season. I ordered Labyrinth dinnerplate dahlia and have a designated large container to grow in. Thanks for sharing your tips and suggestions on planting dahlias!

Thank you so much for showing the resultsÖ!!! There are so many videos with 'how to do bulb lasagna' but almost nobody shows their pots blooming in the spring! Your video helped me very much to imagine how the pots will look in the spring on my balcony. I was not sure if I keep my bulbs in the pots for the next year but probably I will plant them outside after they finish and use the pots for other plants in the summer. That will give me a chance to choos other colours for bulb lasagne for the next year and at the same time give some colour to the lawn behind our house 🙂

When do I start planting?
@containercutflowergarden9 ай бұрын
I start in early April indoors to get a head start to the tubers but if you are planting outside it is recommended to plant when night temperature is consistently 50 F - usually in mid to late May for my zone.
