Carry on Young Marine now give me a couple more months and let this Old Marine show you how to Build a 2007 Honda Shadow VT1100c. But on the real side I like what you done with it. And the information on the jet kit is helpful now I have to dig up the kit I have not put on mine and see if I need to but a new one as you suggested. And as for blue collar bobber ya they do cost money and I went with BC Bobbers out of Alameda California the make great stuff for the Shadow 1100 as far as I can see.

Contemplating a similar build, rode HDs for years and loved them but love cheaper chops/bobbers like yours! I have always believed it is more fun to own/build your own. I can't remember where I read it but a builder said "I would rather own 5 $5,000.00 bikes than 1 $50,000.00 bike." Couldn't agree more🤙🏼

I suppose it all depends where you go. I was strongly considering not putting one until the back tire ripped my backpack up and left a “skunk mark” on my sweatshirt. My bike sits super low- scrapes on turns low

I have this same exhaust setup and I just fought and fought to get the baffles out for two days. Rust is an awful thing. I’ll be scrubbing cleaning and treating the inside of the pipes and if I ever decide to put baffles back in I’ll be putting anti-seize on the parts that contact the inside of the pipe

I know how that can be as im from Minnesota ha, but this was a cali bike and garage kept, so the baffles came out without a problem.

I wanna do this to my bike just unsure on really the process of doing the rear I don’t have many fab tools or skills. Did you just remove the rear fender or did you also cut ?
@usMarinecuv9023 жыл бұрын
I just removed it, but you need the solo seat kit at the same time because the original seat mounts are on the fender. Assuming your bike is the same as mine. Although I'm pretty sure most shadows are that way. The little "subframe" that holds the fender on just bolts on/off. Some bikes you'd have to cut them off which isn't hard at all. Buy a $30 harbor freight grinder and a face shield ha

Rough cost you paid to bobber it?
@usMarinecuv9023 жыл бұрын
I would say for the parts that are currently on the bike. Around $1,000, but you could definitely do it for cheaper. Especially the blue collar bobbers seat was $400, but if you made the mount and bought the seat individually you could make it for under $100. Keep in mind you can very easily do it one part at a time like I did. One month buy the shocks, the next month cut the mufflers off and re jet it, next month buy the seat, etc.

@usMarinecuv9023 жыл бұрын
Yes, it was my first bike. Just keep in mind an 1100 is a big bike to start on, but it's not like a crotch rocket and it doesn't make a lot of power. Just be careful and respect the throttle.
