Contemplating a similar build, rode HDs for years and loved them but love cheaper chops/bobbers like yours! I have always believed it is more fun to own/build your own. I can't remember where I read it but a builder said "I would rather own 5 $5,000.00 bikes than 1 $50,000.00 bike." Couldn't agree more🤙🏼

Carry on Young Marine now give me a couple more months and let this Old Marine show you how to Build a 2007 Honda Shadow VT1100c. But on the real side I like what you done with it. And the information on the jet kit is helpful now I have to dig up the kit I have not put on mine and see if I need to but a new one as you suggested. And as for blue collar bobber ya they do cost money and I went with BC Bobbers out of Alameda California the make great stuff for the Shadow 1100 as far as I can see.

Cool build , strongly recommend a rear fender, I took my shadow bobber out for a test spin, not expecting to hit any puddles but I hit one. And I live in the Central Valley of CA, you’re in the land of 10,000 lakes!

Yeah, I've been riding without a rear fender for about 3 years. Anytime it rains or the road is wet I just accept it lol

I suppose it all depends where you go. I was strongly considering not putting one until the back tire ripped my backpack up and left a “skunk mark” on my sweatshirt. My bike sits super low- scrapes on turns low

Nice build man I'm planning to do much of the same to mine. I have a 97 spirit 1100. I have been going back and forth on getting the blue collar bobber seat kit but I just can't pull the trigger on paying that much for the seat. At any rate great build!

@@usMarinecuv902 i have a 98 spirit 1100 (same as yours) and she's a Bobber. I build it myself. The seat was to expensive so i build my own, Looks better and more comfortable then the ones we get on eBay . Nice build

Finally someone did a decent job with the vt1100c.. Most of these guys on here keep those ugly stock risers. Its the simple things that make one hell of a difference!!!!

Looks good. I'm working on bobbing 01 shadow 600. Painting the tank would make a huge difference. My tank was a similar color and logo. I painted it flat black and it made an amazing difference in the look.

Nice, tjbrutal customs has a lot of good parts for the 600s and 750s. I've been wanting to paint the tank just haven't gotten around to it. Right now the bike has to sit outside, so i don't really want to pay for fresh paint that is going to sit

The aces look nice stock with a few changes. The spirits need some help in the looks department, but they have the mag wheels and a 14% taller gear ratio so they're a good starting point for a build.

I wanna do this to my bike just unsure on really the process of doing the rear I don’t have many fab tools or skills. Did you just remove the rear fender or did you also cut ?

I just removed it, but you need the solo seat kit at the same time because the original seat mounts are on the fender. Assuming your bike is the same as mine. Although I'm pretty sure most shadows are that way. The little "subframe" that holds the fender on just bolts on/off. Some bikes you'd have to cut them off which isn't hard at all. Buy a $30 harbor freight grinder and a face shield ha

Question: without the rear fender, does your back get dirty? Seems like it's kicking up all the dirt onto you or if you go over a puddle?

I don't notice dirt getting on my back unless of course its wet then you're getting sprayed in the face from the front tire and when you slow down to about 10 mph it's the perfect speed for the water to go right on your ass. I wear a backpack when I ride, so it takes most of it, but even with just a shirt on I don't feel anything on my back on a dry day.

The bars are from road 6 customs and I love them. The risers are $40 ones from ebay and I don't recommend them. I've been having issues with the bars slipping in the risers

No, I'm currently running a 45 idle jet, two needle shims, and a 185 main jet. It's still running rich on the top end. In going to try to cut up the airbox and if that doesn't work then I'll go down on the main jet again. (Edit) cut the part of the filter cover that protrudes down into the filter and switched to a 180 main jet and still too rich. I'm going to take a shim off of each needle and see how that goes.

Well, you get wet haha. I'm going to make a little fender just so water doesn't get into the airbox, but it's not going to be big enough to protect me. I wear a backpack pretty much every time I ride.

Nope, I don't know if they'll fit with the 12" bars and stock risers though. 10" bars with stock risers will fit, with the 12" bars I'm running 2" straight risers.

Depends on where you live. This bike was an excellent condition with 21,000 miles when I bought it for $2,250 in MN. The bike would have sold for somewhere around $3,000-$3,500 in socal, so I would say somewhere in between there.

Have you had any issues with your exhaust wrap fading? Turning white or gray?

Yeah it's about half white right now. Doesn't really bother me though. If you wanted to you could spray paint it with header paint and see if that works.

@@usMarinecuv902 I ended up wrapping mine with the white wrap from advance auto parts (it's DEi Design Engineering) and coating it with their black silicone spray. It's been holding up so far in the past 2 weeks. I want to replace it with the titanium stuff and find some clear spray, though.

The wheels are stock spirit wheels that came with it. The tires are shinko 777. The different models of the shadow 1100 have different wheels, the ACE, Spirit, Sabre, and aero.

I would say for the parts that are currently on the bike. Around $1,000, but you could definitely do it for cheaper. Especially the blue collar bobbers seat was $400, but if you made the mount and bought the seat individually you could make it for under $100. Keep in mind you can very easily do it one part at a time like I did. One month buy the shocks, the next month cut the mufflers off and re jet it, next month buy the seat, etc.
