I am an expert SW user, but I need to learn Cat5 for a new job. I am starting with Cat surfacing, because I know SW surfacing and it is not intuitive. I already know regular Cat modeling steps with its idiotic picnic benches would drive me crazy. Thanks for this video series. Very few good, concise and verbally competent stuff on youtube.

I totally understand. It’s a powerful software but so unintuitive. I don’t have access to V5 anymore. I mostly consult on Fiverr using Inventor.

Very helpful video! I found it easier to use the fill tool to surround the outside and just use the sew command, but this video helped me understand the fill tool

Can catia do the opposite? I am having a 3D drawing of a plastic injection mold. I want to redraw the "Runner" of the mold from the 3D drawing, is it possible?. Thank you

I would recommend sketching on the surface and projecting the geometry to recreate the runner.

Hello :) Thanks for this tutorial, very informative. I'm an engineer that will soon start a new job in CAD. I'm a bit rusty in CATIA so I tried to look for some tutorial related to surface preparation. Repairing bad surfaces, extract them, enlarge.... in order to do Cover design. Unfortunately, it's quite hard to find parts like this on the internet. This beetle could be a good tool for me but I couldn't find it on the website you gave. LOL This is NOT editing, these are DELETING features. Editing is when you change the thickness of the rib and when you move that rib one side and when you change fillet size and when you change angle of the slopped surface. Not sure why you call yourself Turbo. LOL

In your tools > options. There’s a setting that says to only show active body. That’s why it’s disappearing

@@thediamondkneeplate6981 hey I’m not a blender expert. But I don’t think it’s meant for precise mechanical design. You should try something like Inventor or SolidWorks.
