why are the filters (waste) always ignored while calculating the plastic waste when comparing buying water to using home filtration
@artistnorishirasu2 күн бұрын
I live in an apartment. An inconsiderate family moved in next door and consumes ridiculous amount of harsh chemicals to obsessively clean 24/7. Does this machine collects the odor and chemical of Fabuloso, bleach, and other cleaning agents with harsh chemicals? I use lots of charcoal filters but I’m looking for a powerful machine that can effectively work and solve the issue. I would appreciate your help.
@ModernCastleКүн бұрын
Yes, this purifier has a large carbon filter, which removes VOCs / gasses / smells (including everything you've mentioned).

The problem with this test is that the baseline particle count for the Coway are much higher than the rest.
@ModernCastle7 күн бұрын
Our more recent tests make a point to having a more consistent starting point for particulates. Though you're right, some of our older tests had more varied starting levels. In any case, the reason we do a 1 hour test time is because almost any reasonably good air purifier can reduce even a very high particulate count to near zero within 15 minutes. This provides ample extra air cleaning time to account for any inconsistencies in starting particulate levels.

I just purchased the AirPro 5000 Commercial model for our 1600 square feet home, but should I have ordered like two 3000 models instead? Help! We are in West Los Angeles and our air quality is even worse now due to the wildfires. Thank you for your informative videos and advice!
@ModernCastle9 күн бұрын
Never heard of AirPro. I'm not really sure how it would compare. Certainly, two 3000 models would work great for almost any space. Given the wildfires, I would suggest you go ahead and order additional filters now. In previous wildfire seasons I've had viewers send me completely blackened filters within just a few weeks of running.

Hi - I find that the vacuum head is impossible to use on normal carpet, even very short pile. The suction is so hard you simply can’t move the head because it’s stuck to the carpet. Any suggestions? Thanks
@ModernCastle10 күн бұрын
On many Dyson vacuum cleaning heads there will be a set of "gates" (usually red) that can be lifted up. This decreases the suction and helps prevent the vacuum from forming a "seal" on the flooring, making it easier to push. I would try that.

That's the language that Levoit uses to describe it. Seemingly...it does not conform to the exact specifications / requirements to be classified as a HEPA filter. Nevertheless, based on its performance, it's still a solid filter and performed as well as any HEPA purifier in our testing.

The tds reading of my tap water without filtering is 640+. Using a new Brita filter, reading goes down to 430+ at best then climbs after a week. With a new zerowater filter, reading goes down to zero then goes up after a week. Once tds reading hits 001 using zerowater, I immediately replace filter since 001+ water tastes bad. I don't use Brita since 640+ to 430+ isn't impressive and is more psychological than anything - just makes you believe you're doing something healthy when nothing much is happening.. Zerowater actually filters water.
@ModernCastle14 күн бұрын
"...isn't impressive and is more psychological than anything" That irony is that's exactly what's happening with ZeroWater and it's their entire marketing strategy. The notion that zero TDS somehow equates pure water is simply false (something I only more fully realized after this video and after sending in a dozen or so laboratory water samples). Getting to a TDS of zero doesn't necessarily mean the water is pure. It just means there are no dissolved solids. But there are numerous contaminants, chemicals, and disinfection byproducts that a TDS meter cannot measure. We sent ZeroWater off for laboratory testing and the lab measured significant disinfection byproducts making Zero's water worse than Brita. You can see the lab reports on Zero, Brita, and 8 other water filters here - kzbin.info/www/bejne/fpa1eKF-qr6iopo&lc

Do you have to hold in the wand release button while you simultaneously pull up on the handle with your other hand? It creates a repetitive motion injury in my back if i have to hold it down. I clean so 5 to 7 days a week and using that multiple times during a clean it messed me up. I didn't know it was from that for a year. I got a modle with button on top and it holds itself in so i can push it and stand up straighter and then pull on the handle.

Do you think in the future for the particle/ purification test you could run it for an hour on the low and high setting? Rather than just the high? With the before/after results. When you did that with your other vid with the subject matter of "quiet air purifiers" in the title, it was very informational to see the efficacy descripency in running these things on either setting. I was really impressed with Orisans mod jr performance on low.

I feel bad you put so much into this and in the end could not simply say: All things considered the device that cleans the air best is: X. X is best. That’s should be literally the last statement. This video was not helpful to an outcome.
@ModernCastle18 күн бұрын
Unfortunately, air purifiers are more complex than that. It would be misleading for me to simply say "X is best" because there are situations that change when "X is best" and who "X is best" for.

To all those considering air purifiers remember that the number one air purifier is your central hvac system. Adding carbon infused or hepa filters do your central hvac system drastically inproves the air quality in youe home.
@ModernCastle27 күн бұрын
If your HVAC is powerful enough then absolutely, using carbon / HEPA filters at the HVAC intake is a great way to improve air quality. However, those types of filters, which are substantially thicker than more typical HVAC filters, put undue stress on your HVAC. They can cause the HVAC to work harder, use more energy, and not last as long. You should always consult a local HVAC tech / company and/or reach out to your HVAC manufacturer to determine if and what types of filters are appropriate for your HVAC.

Sounds to me like a defective unit. In which case, you'll need to return it. You can try to factory reset it and see if that works. Sometimes it can fix weird issues. To factory reset a Roborock, you can do the following: Press and hold the Home button for 3-5 seconds Use a pin to press the Reset button, which is located next to the Wi-Fi LED, once Continue to hold the Home button for 5 seconds after pressing the Reset button Wait for the power button to blink again and for the tone "Restoring the initial version" to play Remove your finger The factory reset process can take about five minutes.
