If you were to animate this, turntable for example. Would you do anything differently?

Probably would look fine, but you could use a more 360 friendly studio HDR.

Great tutorial. Is there a way to make the floor plane with the ambient occlusion material work as a shadow catcher?, because it's not working for me when I activate the shadow catcher. I only need the car with the shadow. Thanks
@DamianMathew2 күн бұрын
Blender's Shadow Catcher is the worst. But there’s a workaround! Basically, I used Photoshop to multiply it and effectively turned it into a Shadow Catcher. I might make a quick video on this next-just showing how to add Alpha to the shadow and the car.

A white studio with outdoor tree reflections looks quite odd, especially that line on the windshield. The tires are clipping thorugh the floor and it would've been nice to see a bit of a gradient on the rims, they look very flat.
@DamianMathew2 күн бұрын
100% Agreed. About the outdoor, this is just by far the fastest 'photorealistic' look, and better than most renders out there (by far). A real studio lighting would be done via HDR Light Studio. A tutorial that I definitely should be making one day.

Nah, didn't learn a thing. In one ear, out the other. JK. I am gonna have to try the render settings for the flakes and orange peel. I always hated losing that bit of detail, glad you had that in there. Good tutorial man.

Glad you learned a thing 🙏 Yeah, many just bump up samples, but often super sampling resolution is way more effective, even on 32 samples.

The materials look great! I assume the colours can be changed, although I don't see why multiple colours are already included in the pack if they can be customised?
@DamianMathew4 күн бұрын
@@raduvasc9826 Theoretically anything can be customized, it’s an open file. Colors can be changed extremely easy. I added multiple colors, because most people already fail on setting correct colors for carpaints, leathers or even chrome and glass. So I set everything as it should be so anyone can achieve good results. But you can definitely tweak them to your needs! Especially color.

Good tip but you can just make use of a simple script to automate this, without having to select all and assign a single materials to all. Also this will not work for models that use individual meshes with separated materials. Few lines of python can clean this with a single click. I have seen that you added an add-on that does this, 1 year ago, this is something really easy to achieve.

Yo thank you so much for getting straight to the point. As someone who occasionally uses Blender to support workflows in other software, I'm just a dabbler who needs to know just enough to get the thing done.
