I use a 10ft 3wt greys fin rod and reel then a 12ft leader and down to 4lb tippet

It's actually in Nottinghamshire (not Northampton). In Thurgaton. It's a re-wilded gravel works. Two lakes. One is 12 acre (the featured lake in this video) The other almost adjoins and is 8 acre.

I mainly fly fish the Cleddau West Wales, I've only been fly fishing for a year but it's quite small a lot of it is overgrown and low trees and limited back cast room I'm definitely going to give this a go 👍👍

Remember fishing this place about 40yrs ago with my father when it opened. Think it closed down off and on for a good few years but good to see it's back open. Back then I think they had a smaller pond, and I mean small that was fly fishing only.

Good fish their Gareth , impressive, I would like to fish dry in Wales, not been yet. Cannot abide catching stock fish , many English rivers have them, what’s the point? They are bad for the wild fish.

Rod is a wychwood drift xl, reel is a wychwood sla mkII and the line is a wychwood connect series feather floater

@@stevegreen8524 Solva is a stone throw from Hayscastle fishery. If you do, fish the first few hours due to heat. Hard fighting fish. Water is open Thurs to Sun. C/r or take two fish. Rainbows, Blues and browns. £15 c/r £25 two fish best eating fish they say.
