Stillwater fly fishing at Manningford Trout Fishery

So in this video me and my good mate Gareth wilson also know as the UKFLYFISHER headed up to Manningford to do some still water fishing where I was hoping to catch a PB brown or rainbow and the day did not disappoint.

Thats my local 30 mins away, thanks for the inspiration, haven't been for a long time (work/life) but going tomorrow now 😁😁...... Never been able to get a brownie though...... Might start using buzzers instead of nymphs and hoppers 🤔🤔

I saw the link you put on Facebook so thought I’d give it a watch and what a cracking video!I hope you don’t mind me asking but I was always taught to have my rod tip to the water; what are the positives to having it up off the water? Does it make them easier to strike into ?

Great glad you found your way here i have other videos you might like! And yeah I like to have it up from the water because I find it easier to strike but what I noticed was because I fish rivers mainly im use to having it like that so maybe thats also why. All personal preference really

What is the point of this film? Great to watch but no mention of fly lines used, flies or method of retrieve? Was it an exercise in showing off or didn’t you think people coming into the sport would want to know how to fly fish properly. Rod tip in or out I read on comments, how about explains things properly. Less provado butt?

Like I said on my Instagram I am quite new to still waters so didn't know much about what I was doing other than changing my retrieving methods and the video was to just share my experience at Manningford as it was my first time im sure there are other channels that do tutorials on different methods but I don't know enough about stillwaters to be telling people what to do hope this makes sense thanks for watching 👍
