Hi. Thank you for this, my friend has been looking for it for years. Do you know where I might get a copy of the full soundtrack?
@jamesstuart5904 dave hentchel and phil were old friends, which is how dave became genesis producer. Also every movie soundtrack dave did in the 70s has phil on drums. :)

Joyce Mathis - soprano, Joy Blackett = mezzo, John Russell - tenor, and Robert Shiesley - bass baritone were the soloists in the world premier which took place at the Julliard School in New York City on November 27, 1970. I'm not sure but this may be a recording of that world premier performance.

Somewhat like a fever dream, this film has stayed with me ever since I first saw it. Critics can point to various flaws, which I wouldn't deny. But there's something about its atmosphere. The on location filming in Morocco is one of the factors that makes this movie, for its time, unique. It's understandable that it may not register with audiences today. It's slow and downbeat. But these are the qualities that appeal to me. By far, the best part of the film - the nightmare sequence - occurs at the very beginning of the move, which makes what follows seem like a let down. Nevertheless, I prefer an ambitious, unusual attempt to a mediocre accomplishment.

Thanks for the upload James. It's really appreciated. I'm so happy you uploaded this recording as I much prefer it to the Rumon Gamba recording with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. This is my favourite of all Arnold's ballet scores - a cigarette paper between this and Electra.

It was such a surprise to come across this. I'd never heard the suite; lovely to hear the vocal group. I wonder if you could tell us the credits. I sang on the solo vocal version of the Simple Things. Do you have a recording of it? Thanks again for the post.

I watched this as a teenager and never forgot the music. I always had so much sympathy and respect for the Vietnam War vets, just as much as I respect our French vets of Indochina. Americans are our brothers. Allies forever.
