it is tricky but I think it is natural, I would just live with it. A exersize that realy blew up my delts. Made realy fell them was the side pres there you tilt a bit to the side on the hip and you get a biger range of motion for the delts to realy work harder. and the bent press but that one is a bit riskier. And maybe you shuld just focus on more general exerses rather than isolation. and always work the same amount on both side, no mather if you can do more on your domenant one. maybe just train the smal one and skip the big sholder. many options. and am no expert you know

@howjackedcaniget 4 ай бұрын
*Deadlift Strength:* Upon reflection, I estimated I could do about 6 reps with the 140 at the moment, implying I can do around 162 kg / 358 lbs for 1. Nothing terribly impressive, but considering I'm 17.5 kg lighter than when I did 186 and I have zero CNS specialisation going on, it's alright. I didn't want to max, and 162 kg is just an estimate. I'm waiting to truly deadlift until I'm way stronger than I was back in 2023. *RDLs:* I felt these much more than I expected to. I'm doing them instead of Good Mornings once a week because I want to hit the spinal erectors and traps more. I know the weights are very light, but I believe that is how I will get big. Honest weight and time. I don't wanna mess around. *The bulk in general:* I am definitely gaining muscle at a good rate. I've been uncertain about calorie intake in both directions. I recently went to 3200, but I think that's a little too much. I might go down to 3100 because I don't have it in me to cut for another few months. The previous cut took a massive toll on me. I always look worse on camera than in the mirror, but I reckon I look like this to people IRL as well. I'm approx. 17.3% bodyfat and around 171 lbs. I train everything to failure with as strict of a form as I can manage. I'm barbell rowing 72 kg for as much as 14 reps, though I'm not 100% on the quality of the last 1-2 reps of that. DB Bench is 25 kg/55 lb DBs for 13 at the moment. Everything is growing, slowly but steadily. I'm hoping I'm doing what I should be, because I sincerely want to do what it takes to become big, symmetrical, and jacked.

I can't agree. It's clear that this is actually bringing them, and me, better results than what we've been doing before. And, not all at the same time, AlphaDestiny, Alan Thrall, Basement Bodybuilding, and Will Tennyson all came to try and adopt this style of training without being told to. These are all very big and serious lifters who care about their results, and they find it to be the best for them. I call that convergent evolution.

@@howjackedcaniget, a year from now they'll all sing another song again, since the clicks need to get coming. Bodybuilding is just not so complicated. You have some leeway with frequency, volume and intensity, and as long as you don't go to extremes, it'll all work. Just go back in the time lines of all your favourite fitness youtubers: sometimes it's low volume, sometimes high, low frequency, high, bulking, clean bulking, maingaining, recomping ... Whenever a new study comes out, they'll all force one of those old tired horses out again. They get bored, and they need clicks. Not deeper than that.

@@user-nm3ug3zq1y This is not based on studies. I hate that crap too. More like "science-cringe". They're basing it off personal experience and their reactions are genuine. I think you're being way too pessimistic. Realising I can make such amazing gains doing like 50-60% the amount of sets I would otherwise and get that somewhat unexplainable effect you get with training to failure makes me wonder why I should ever train any other way again, except perhaps for a strength phase.

@@howjackedcaniget, I don't know how long you've been following youtube bodybuilders, but I can promise you, nothing of this is new. Look at all those old tubers, like Jeff Nippard, Omar Isuf or what have you. Look at their videos from five years earlier, or even ten, and then look at them today. There is hardly a difference. And that's quite normal, because they are close to or at their natural limit. And yet, how often have I heard them deliver those "genuine reactions" to some change in their routine, and how they suddenly made "so much better progress". Yet if you don't just believe those claims but *look at them* closely, there's not much of a difference, if any. There may be exceptions, when one of them wasn't quite maxed out, sure. But understand a few truths of this space. As a natty, you won't grow forever. If you want to go on hooking viewers anyway, you need to cycle through all the old topics over and over and make it appear like something has changed. If you don't allow yourself to be manipulated but just look over their video lists with a calm eye, then you will recognize that this is just a content creation scheme, a pattern which they all follow eternally. There are a few guys that feel more genuine to me. Vitruvian Physique for example, who has basically stopped now, because he knows he isn't growing and has nothing new to say. Or Sean Nalewanyj, who just keeps at it, but doesn't make shit up. He's just talking about the same old basics over and over, although most people should and do know already. HIT is not new, it's half a century old. It always had proponents and opponents, and everyone lifting for long enough has done it at least once and then switched to something else for whatever reasons. Mostly though because HIT is not magic. It can work, sure, but other styles work too. It's just a way to liven it up a little and not get bored, or to keep viewers watching your stuff.

I belive how it works is that one got to change ones way of training multible times over ones journey to get strong or big. That is the only way to find what works for oneself. Also through variation the body will never get comfortable in otherwords stagnation. High intensity makes sense it makes you biger and stronger because you body has to adapt or break, it probably runs deap in our DNA

I guess you're not smart enough to read the description... or the title. "nothing to be proud of". You sound just like the typical Johnny 1pl8 you'd find on /fit/ trying to put everyone down because he can't make progress himself. I got to over a 4 plate deadlift, and yes, my form did improve, and then I lost about 50 lbs net in bodyweight, more like 60 lbs total because of the recovery bulks. I didn't need debbie downers such as yourself for me to improve. Your attitude keeps people small and unhappy, and you should be ashamed of yourself.

@@krakken379 The 2020 version of me no longer exists. He expired on January 1st 2021. Over 3 years ago. It's an old video. A throwback. A lot of commenters seem to think video makers are helpless lemmings without your unsolicited guidance. It's insulting. If it had been a recent video, you still would've been wrong to say "nothing to be proud of". I worked hard. I improved myself like crazy and went from being a weak stick to a guy who can deadlift 102 kg for 4 reps with downright silly form. I know I'm being a bit hypocritical now that I say the following, but I didn't want my first proper batch of comments to be filled with negativity: Have some fun, will you? I'm trying not to feed the trolls or be a LOLCOW, but for whatever reasons, whether genetics, upbringing, or something else entirely, I can't let comments that leave a bad taste in my mouth go without a response.

It's called a "chest expander". It's old-timey workout equipment. Alex Leonidas has made some good videos about them. Mine is from the '70s. My knee is slowly healing, and I feel good about it. I'm more or less expecting to be able to do some form of squatting this year, likely no later than the start of summer. Though I'd rather wait longer than I need to than not long enough.

It was so tempting to do more, but it's been a few days and meniscus tears are said to take 4-8 weeks to heal if they're ones that don't require surgery. All in due time. But I can do this and surely some sort of back training to keep myself from regressing. Looking forward to being recovered and evening out and growing my muscles!

I'd lower your weights a bit on the dumbbells for all exercises and put more emphasis on your form. Slow on the eccentric contraction 1.5-2secs and fast but controlled on the concentric contraction. Just a tip you can do with it what you want of course. But I'm positive you'll look more jacked and defined faster this way. It really isn't about how much you can lift but more so how you are lifting and if the muscles are getting a squeeze all through the movements.

I know nobody watched that video, but I've already asked not to be given rookie advice. I know about controlled reps and I disagree with the cult of TUT but understand the truth that there is to it. But I am cutting. My goal here is to preserve my performance and volume as best as I can for the entire duration of the cut. I am not going to grow. While I appreciate you wanting to help, I've got my own thing going on here and I know what I'm doing. I coach someone myself.
