Personally i think some of the enemies from "Hey! Pikmin" could actually work in the mainline games, like the Mockiwi's could be weaker but pack oriented counterparts to the Bulborb's who generally are found alone, Shearblug's would be aquatic members of the Sheargrubs (plus there isn't a lot of aquatic enemies to begin with) and the Widemouthed Anode Beetle would have been a more hostile version of the Anode Beetle (also enemies that use electricity are heavily underutilized)

I cannot believe you're even comparing egg to egg baby. Egg baby had a much more charming art style and funny dialogue and was interesting and a little more rough around the edges, egg was way too polished and sanitised, it took all the unique stuff out and watered it down. Egg was just egg baby but for younger kids who didn't know how to read yet and who just played it because of the pastelly colours and the overly cutesy aesthetic. As a kid, I hated egg because I saw it for what it was. They ruined my favourite game just to try to appeal to a wider audience. Egg baby had way funnier item descriptions, better books, better clothing and accessories and was that perfect balance of cute and slightly ugly in a way that made it charming and special. I liked when kids games and shows didnt shy away from darker things because i was kinda messed up from a young age and it was comforting when things werent all sanded down and perfect. I dont relate to perfect, boring, happy little families! I need chaos!
