(The real "evolution" is not clear : I ve heard that it is about height... but personnaly, I prefer the taller one!!! + on the paper, every specs seems to be better on the 1200 than on the 1260, so, I m a bit confused as the price tags are relatively significative between the two models ) 🙏Cheers :)

Yes. Fully electronic semi-active front and rear suspension. This means that it adjust on the fly to best suit the needs of the road. I don't remember off the top of my head, but I believe it adjusts like 100 times per minute or something like that, so it is supposed to adjust to any different road conditions automatically. The specific suspension is called "Ducati Sky Hook Suspension" if you want to look it up.

It was great and I ran into no issues. With just over 50k miles the bike was running fine. However, I ended up selling it as even just the routine maintenance cost over the next couple years was going to be too much for me to be worth it. Not to mention, if something DID go wrong with the bike, I'd be outta luck. It is a great overall bike, but if you are going to ride it a lot, the maintenance costs will absolutely catch up with you. I can't say the same for my Harley that I've owned for 5 years and spent under $1000 total on maintenance over those 5 years. Way more affordable, but each to their own.

@2WheelPursuit7 ай бұрын
Hey Mark. Thanks! Sounds like you have great taste in all your bikes. The only advice I can offer in regard to the Multi is be aware of the valve checks/adjustments as well as the timing belt. Although I don't believe there are any timed requirements on the valve check (only based on how many miles you ride), the timing belt must be changed every 5 years regardless of how many miles you ride. Some people are not aware of this so I figured I'd just let you know. Those maintenance costs of a Ducati can really creep up on you fast, but they are sweet bikes for sure. Ride safe.
@markguarini-id3rt7 ай бұрын
Thanks so much for the reply! I knew about the valves and as the bike I am looking at is a 2017 w/ 24k on her one could assume the valves were done…I was under the impression that Ducati did both the valves and the belts at the same time of service first time around then every 5 for the belts regardless. Do you have any realistic $$$ figures on the belts if you have done them already otherwise the bike’s history would be the only way to know. Does Ducati have the same ability as HD DOES where if the service it via the VIN they would have the service in their computers? Figured I would ask lol. Sorry so long & be well!
@2WheelPursuit7 ай бұрын
@@markguarini-id3rt With some Ducati's the dealers are supposed to be able to pull up the service for them, but on mine when they tried, nothing showed up even though I had the physical copies of the maintenance that had been done. That is correct about the belts and valves. Ducati will typically do the belts at the same time they do the valves, but the only thing is the valves do not need to be done at a certain time, only at ceratin miles, whereas the belts need to be done every 5 years regardless of miles. I believe the belt change alone is about $500, but I am not certain. It would be best to call a dealer and get a quote.

I literally just stumbled upon this video and I'm actually starting to look for my first bike. I've heard from a lot of sources that the Harley Sportster "is the all-around best first motorcycle". I already know what I'm looking for, but I really wanted to get as many different prospectives surrounding the hype of the Harley Sportster as possible before deciding 100% on what to spend my money on, and you're last few points starting at 19:07 regaurding the weight of the Sportster and the kind of first impression that 1200 cc's is "too much" to start with, pretty much soliltified my original thoughts that a Heritage Softail would make for an excelent first bike. It's about the same weight as a Sportster(more or less) and I believe a Softail is only between 500 and 750cc which is a significant difference in engine displacement.
@2WheelPursuit7 ай бұрын
I'm glad you found the video insightful. My experience with the sportster has been great, and after riding many different types of bikes, it really solidified my interest in cruisers. I just bought a 2014 dyna street bob with the 103ci twin cam engine and am planning to sell the sportster to my buddy. With that being said, the main thing I wanted was a 6th gear for longer distance riding. Other than that, I would've kept the sportster!
@srjr914027 ай бұрын
@@2WheelPursuit: Nice, and yes this video was very insightful. And again, I was pretty much just trying to find that soliltification that someone who's actually had the experience riding for a good amount of time to confirm what I kind of already 'knew'(that a new rider's first bike should obviously have common sense as a factor with at least a basic knowledge of motorcycles in general, but other than that, the first bike should really depends on three key things. 1. What the prospective new rider feels comfortable with and handle comfortably, 2. There really needs to be a balance between the size ratio of the prospective new rider and the bike, and 3. The difference between different types of bikes with the same size engine displacement, start out getting comfortable with an actual heavy motorcycle so they don't have to make that awkward transition to a much bigger bike.) Other than that, it should really be the person's choice of what they get for a first bike.

you're either competent or not , no difference between 600 , 300 , 1000 crash , if you don't understand physics you're going to die , on 600 at least you'll be more focused and aware so I'd argue you're going to be a safer driver besides skill ceiling is much more pronounced so you will be more aware of how physics work since you have more engine to experience physics , if you roll throttle 100% on 300cc you won't learn much , if you roll throttle 100% on 600cc you might slide rear tyre or you might not , and you will get a lot more information on how motorcycles work thats the main difference. you can learn a lot more.
