Just bought one of these an keep blowing fuses on everything I've tried. Is it user error or defective?I've tried it on my bench grinder and angle grinder both blew the fuse

I’m trying to use this to step up from 12 to 18V on a Kids power wheels car to drive the two brush motors faster, my question is, if you change the polarity on the input side, will it also change on the output side, or would it just cause and error? This is how forwards and reverse is accomplished, so I want to make sure it would work. The input power I will feed the converter will be coming from the speed control, which will alternate polarity when either forwards or revers is selected at the shifter. And no, I cannot step up the voltage before the speed control, as the speed control can Only handle 12v, and the motors can handle 18v. So I need to connect on the output side of the speed control.
@86jekstrom2 жыл бұрын
Careful not to overload the board. I've metered amp draw using 18v liions and saw 31 peak draw with an 80lb load on the vehicle. I'd install a DPDT switch after converter for reverse.

Thank you for your video ! can I connect 3pcs or 4pcs of this Boost Converter in parallel to bring up higher current output ? I will add a blocking diode to the positive connector at output side of each unit to prevent from any back flow current from other units. I plan to use them to charge my battery pack of 560Ah. Do you think this work for my application ? FYI, the power source is from a PSU providing 12V 75A (900W), I have 3pcs of it. If I need about 60V, I will use 3pcs of it in series to give 36V input. If I need 14.6V, I just need 1pc PSU,

Can the input current amps be adjusted
@wildhare4 жыл бұрын
I recently got one that looks exactly the same and was told the first potentiometer you are wondering about is a low voltage shutoff to prevent draining your battery. This may help others who run into issues. I haven't yet tested this myself, but it was just delivered today.

Just FYI, If you put loads of cooling on these, they can run some serious power! I charge my 90v ebike battery at 12 amps using a 1.2kw power supply reliably. So thats just over a 1kw of charging power. Too many people bash them saying they burn out when pushed to 250 - 300w after they get hot. Well duuuurrrr!!! Put some wacking great big fans on it then lol. I built mine in to what is essentially a rectangular wind tunnel box with a powerful 120mm fan on each end and it has done about 50 cycles on my battery now at that power setting.
@ktestable3 жыл бұрын
so it works on ebike, nice to know. Does the current limiter work? because mine wasnt
@jcreedy203 жыл бұрын
@@ktestable If you mean the current doesnt tail off as it reaches full charge then you need to adjust output voltage so its slightly below your packs max charge voltage.
@jasonbrown4672 жыл бұрын
what power source and voltage did you run your fans? 12v same psu that is feeding the step up converter? i want to run 4 of these in parallel, close to max amp output for converters, for my ebike controller to push volts from 75 to 85, but havent worked through fan options yet
@jcreedy202 жыл бұрын
@@jasonbrown467 my psu is now a 48v 2000w psu and i now use a little cheap step down for the fans and because i can control the current i can control fan speed. But when i used a 12v psu I did just hook the fans direct to the psu. If you have a seperate rail for the fans then use it, if not just add a good length of wire between the fans and power psu. Those stepups dont like noise from other devices when your pushing them hard.

I am building a mini lathe to make screw-in pins, turned down from setscrews. I want to use a sewing machine motor but some of the foot pedals won't let you vary the speed as much as you would like. I believe this will work, as I could adjust the potentiometer to give me finer speed control. Thank you for the information.

What is the maximum output current .we want input 12vdc100amp to 48vdc 60amp output is it possible or not
@palopo234 жыл бұрын
It basically as theory said, Power In = [Power Out x (efficiency)] it was another review on the youtube video, the max input current is 30A, he tried to change the fuse become 40A, and its failure. As per your question, you need 2880 Watt output power while input power only 1200W, it means, it cannot provide your required power output.
