Yay, Mr Snook! It sounds amazing where you are, I thought of you when reworking some Cornish tunes, you might like the 2nd part of The Mock Mayors Revenge (Boscastle Breakdown\Quay Fair/Bodmin Riding) I tried to get a bit Caribbean at your suggestion! So good to hear from you! Take care both <3

I included an adaptation of this tune in a song that my prog band played back in the early nineties. I learned it from one of Kyt Davey's albums.

Hey Gurdybird, I'm loving your music. Do you play with other musicians, or do you do it all yourself? What's the bandcamp thing? How does it work? And finally, may I ask, what is the darkest, scariest piece in your repertoire? Many thanks David.
@GurdyBird3 жыл бұрын
Oh my gosh, David, I am so sorry to have missed your lovely comment, I sometimes do play with other musicians but I can't read sheet music so I have to learn by ear which takes a little while. Bandcamp is a music download platform, like iTunes, or amazon music, but supports the artist so much, takes minimal cuts and you can sell merch on there too. It takes paypal also, and the darkest piece I have composed is probably "Childermas", although I have a few spooky traditional ones I am learning. I do hope you are well, and can forgive this oversight on my side, I don't seem to get emails for every comment as I believed I did!

Penzance is as weird & strange as it has always been. This looks more like a scene from "The Wicker Man"! I was looking to see if Edward Woodward was lurking in the background.

I love every aspect of this vignette... The entire song is exceptional, the solemnity marbled with the comedy, the feisty mob, the hanging not overly dramatic, yet the detail superb, right down to twitch of booted foot, liquor shenanigans & best of all the dancing skeletons...the dignity of the synchronized trio...then the duo...perfect colorization... Nothing to add or subtract. Touche to all - well done. (Wild Applause) 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
