I fished Tiddenfoot and Rackley Hills in the 80s. Both were good spots back then. Tiddenfoot was great for mixed species - had good Tench and Crucian carp fishing. Rackley Hills - had a bit of a reputation for hard to land Carp. They carried discorgers apparently. I used to do my Carp fishing on the Canal not too far from there at grovelock. Thepub wasn't there back then. There were loads of Carp there if you knew what they would eat(not boilies lol). Nothing huge - Think 14lb was my biggest from there but you could catch a few in a matter of hours.

Hey Dan, I’m sorry bud, I had to switch off after 7 mins. I personally have got to the point with carp fishing vids, that I don’t really care about all the waffle, I don’t care how many wraps this way that way or the other, who would care in reality? ASMR videos covering all kinds of hobby’s get millions of views in very short periods of time compared to ‘vlogs’. I can’t wait for that to become the ‘norm’ with carp fishing vids. No one cares mate, but we do want to watch you go fishing. Room for thought perhaps.
@danclearycarpfishing2 ай бұрын
I try to keep the waffle down, but it's just my nature, i can't help it. I'm not gunna please everyone, it's just my own channel doing my own thing. Cheers for the feedback though, i cannot improve or get better without the feedback 👍
@andydraycott36092 ай бұрын
@ I hear u dude, but in my humble opinion your not doing your own thing at all, your copying everyone else. A great man once said”if you are doing the same as everyone else, don’t expect any better than average results”. Stand out buddy, don’t just copy.

Incredible fish..thanks for yet another fantastic vlog👍👍👍👏👏👏 Very jealous of your Kingfisher shots too...I've been waiting over 20 years for a shot like that...maybe one day🤣 All the best to you, if this is your last film of the year,have a great Christmas and all the very best to you for 2025...hopefully more to follow👍👍👍💪💪🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣

Don't worry taken me about 30 years to get such a friendly kingfisher, I have loads more footage and pics. I got one that lasts around 8 minutes sat on the rod! Best of luck buddy, I'm back fishing in Essex and blanking like a expert 😁 one more vlog to put together before Xmas, but the same to you 🎅🌲

This will be brilliant watch thanks Dan . Well done on the pb . How long was the drive , it must have been the guts of day with stops & the same back ?
@danclearycarpfishing2 ай бұрын
Thanks David, I left home midday Friday, and arrived at the lake around 8-9am Saturday. I stopped a few times, dinner, petrol, and several coffees 😁, tbh I would recommend a stop over somewhere, but I don't have enough holiday quota at work to do it, that's the truth of it. Return journey is never so bad, we have the Sat & Sun to travel back.

Great video Dan. Is there any special travel requirements getting there or just straight through on a GB passport.
@danclearycarpfishing3 ай бұрын
Hi Chris, straight through, no tolls, booths or anything, just drive. Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Czechia & Slovakiia have no tolls booths, Slovakia has digital vignette/toll for their motorways, but you shouldn't need to go on them.

I live about 300meters away from this lake, Ive wanted to fish this lake for over 10 years before it went open for public. Never managed to get into contact with the owner, never managed to fish it. Now seeing it turned into a paid lake Im probably never gonna fish it, I aint paying those amounts of money to fish a lake next to my house. It always was a dream of mine that got crushed when the lake opened.

one could argue that 54lb mirror was more leather than mirror - certainly debatable
@danclearycarpfishing6 ай бұрын
If it has a single scale, it's a mirror to me. Only complete nudes are true leathers, not even any scales on its back, this fish has scales all the way down its back, by its tail and gill plate. Biggest true leather I've had in the UK is 38lbs, not sure abroad?
