Live in Germany now but dont really speak it yet lol. Its hard to get fishing here, am currently in Kamp lintford, there are lakes everywhere, rivers everywhere (im talking within 15 minutes drive all around my house) but unlike Uk it isnt as easy as youd think to go out fishing. Ive no clue where to start yet but am working on it, have carp fished in the UK all of my life and its killing me here having to drive past these waters but only able to look lol. Im not one for walking around waters feeding ducks, I wanna fish!

Hi, you will need to first visit the local Rathaus (council office) (maybe online due to Covid) and obtain a 'Ausländer Fischereischein' a foreigners fishing licence. I believe the price will vary state to state, Hessen was €12.50 for 3 months. They will require you're passport, a passport photo, paperwork of where you reside, temporary (i.e. hotel) or permanent address, and I also needed to produce my UK fishing licence, this was to prove i'm competent to fish, and not have to take their test (which is multi choice in german!). you can then renew every 3 months, so €50 for a full year. Then like UK, go to a local tackle shop and enquire where best to go/start in your area, rivers and canals are the easiest and cheapest to purchase a ticket for. Let me know how you get on, I found it hard as well, keep at it! Best of luck

@@danclearycarpfishing I don't know why I didn't see this reply until I got another one from the last person who commented, sorry about this, and thanks so much for the information! Currently, in an intensive German language course, another important thing about living here is speaking some german helps I've found lol Buying a house here and all sorts, time flies so fast, I've still been able to obtain the right to fish here but thanks to what you've said, the second I can, I think it'll be a whole lot easier. I wonder if I can get a UK license from UK and use it here, or maybe their test thing isn't that hard. Anyway thanks again for the replies mate, I really appreciate them and wish id seen them earlier and not missed them

@@na3eem89nm Thanks mate, what is it just a website you go to and apply to take the test? or more to it than this? I'm actually at the stage now almost where I can do all of this far easier than before as well as have the time to fish, what with life stuff not so much in the way now.

Bro, does anyone can fishing in public rivers in Germany ?

You can get a 'tourist permit' from local rathaus, then with that you can purchase the license for rivers at a local tackle shop, they are broken up into regions.

Oh I'm sure there is, I've got the odd pic of 50lb+ fish, no idea where from mind, except the Rhine, it did suffer a big fish kill about 10 years ago, so a lot tougher now
