I honestly really disagree I think the reason that it hasn't been adapted is because it's "filler" at least when it comes to the plot and the 2016 adaptation understandably didn't want to spend time on an arc that didn't really have to do with the main plot not cause its too violent or whatever considering how arguably worse the next arc is I mean I feel like Berserk fans tend to overexagerate how violent the manga is and how impossible it is to be adapted when it really isn't it just needs the right animation and direction

Animation was really good, that was mwah chefs kiss, but I couldn’t stand everything else as a massive fan of the games. I miss Dracula. Also where’s Shaft from RoB and SotN? Is he the abbot? I want really hope not, shaft is a mastermind and the abbot can barely even figure out his own motivations

It's not the first time media has taken a benevolent or otherwise righteous God/Goddess and given them the villainous monster treatment. Can't even blame Hollywood either, since the original creator(s) of Castlevania weren't Westerners. Although, disregarding everything else, you gotta admit that *She-Who-Mauls* is a badass moniker.

This makes me sad, because the animation is a huge upgrade from the original show while the writing is well you know...

Never noticed the insignias on Isaac and Hectors back. My guess is the Sword and Shield represents Isaac's will to protect and fight for Dracula, but by the nature of a sword and shield they are nothing without a wielder. While Hector's Star represents his goal of having a world without suffering, also showing the distance of his goal from everyone else.

You could be right, generally Japanese mangaka tend to sort of not really take race into a count when it comes to design, just throwing one out there... Naruto, dude looks swedish is in a Japanese setting, even creators who do have blatantly racial features like Keisuke Itegaki will have Japanese gingers and will base the facial structure off white actors (talking about early Yujiro). So white and Japanese in the manga world can be indistinguishable and there are some black characters who will look like they are from this indistinguishable pod, just darker. To me Guts looks like he could be Italian or Spanish but I do also see a lott of Miura in him esp the way his mouth moves which puts him in this in between world. Casca is Kushan but I allways imagined her as black, Griffith tho, he could be white but his soft ass features... he looks like one of them Kpop guys.

To be fair, Sekhmet *DID* chug blood after she was created. After the gods stopped her from singlehandedly making humanity an extinct species, she quit doing that and became a protector. Sure, she’s often regarded as the 1st vampire in recorded folkloric history, but how true that statement is can be debatable, at best.

She’s an absolute powerhouse.

I think Lenore is like Dracula, in that under different circumstances she could’ve been a better person and could’ve even changed if she met someone like Lisa instead of Hector. Like Dracula, we see moments of her compassion, and unlike most vampires and humans she also upholds her side in commerce unequivocally, even if she does force a person to partake in it first. Her belief in things needing to be just and equal between both parties already puts her in a better spot than even Dracula, all she needs to do to be better is to escape the toxic environment that is Carmilla’s court and find her own value in the world. This could never be fixed with someone in Hector’s position, as to her he’s just the prisoner that hates her sisters just because they imprisoned him. Someone more mature than Hector from the start and also not a prisoner would only have the capability to convince Lenore to actually change. It’s funny, you’d think people would appreciate Lenore more for echoing very human tendencies, yet like her own sisters some people write those moments off as her just being a brat. The only “brat” moments I can recall is when she gets annoyed when people mock her for treating humans more as equals than as livestock, and her showing frustration of not being perceived as useful anymore because any plans of her using her diplomatic skills would be rendered obsolete under Carmilla’s empire.

The one rare time a swap of this kind goes EXTREMELY well. This was an amazing character, he is awesome and I hope he lived well.

Well this further supports my head canon that Ersebet is just a deluded woman who wants to be worshipped as a god. She apparently wants to kill the Sun. But if she realizes how the solar system really works she’ll probably get a real existential crisis.

I also feel like there's something to be said about the parallels between how alucard met sumi and taka and how his parents met. Not only was he lonely and aimless, but the only real relationship he got to see growing up was the result of a human seeking knowledge from a lonely, cynical vampire, who was ultimately changed by the bond they formed. It would make sense that when he is at his lowest, he might see sumi and taka's arrival as the start of the bond that might 'fix' him. It makes the betrayal almost worse, knowing that he did exactly what his father did, he took all the right steps, and it still wasnt enough to get the happy ending he grew up to expect.

I really wish we got a least a few more episodes before the seige of styria. I would have loved to see more of Isaac, flyeyes and hell, a few lines from Abel (the pretty, winged demon from the last season) would have been great.

I just finished watching the first season and honestly, I couldn't agree more. I mean, there were some somewhat strange at first glance decisions in the original Castlevania show, but that show is pure gold compared to this. Honestly something that bugged me the wrong way was the powers of Annette. She is supposed to be kidnapped sometime later by dracula's hemchmen, as the events of Rondo of Blood are happening. Same for Maria, but her powers are somewhat as they have always been so there it's not such a problem. How could Dracula capture her if she has those powers I wonder? Also Alucard in season 2? Really? They couldn't hold off on fanservice for just a while? He is supposed to be forgotten history at the point of SOTN, having almost no one remember him, and certainly not by how he looks. Also, the Terra plot at the end is so stupid. It works in the show, because we have the characters introduced, but not woth the games, seeing as Richter saves her in Rondo of Blood. It's just stupid in a lot of places and this show has so far just given me the "Plot Twist!" vibe allthroughout. I am, though, curious what they will do next.

Issac from the Netflix series is a way better character than the series deserves, but man will it be timeless for decades to come.

What if Slan and Griffith end up fighting over Guts sometime in the future? I feel like Griffith still wants guts, even as Femto. We all know Griffith is very possessive and as an apostle, Guts is now forever tied to him and can never leave him, never disobey and he gets his best soldier back to help him conquer the world and build and expand his kingdom under one flag. Internal in fighting in the god hand would be interesting and a good way to help tip the power balance of the opposing sides
