I feel like one of the many reasons it became a race to complete things, for everyone really is because of a mix of hype trains and spoilers, like for games theres those channels that get it days early, complete it in a day and upload the entire game with the ending/a big spoiler as the thumbnail, its so annoying and makes people feel like they have to do something as fast as possible, it sucks

it became a race because people with no interest or passion for games have infiltrated the community for a quick money grab or attention... i also feel like the modern internet culture in general promoted the idea of doing things for bragging rights plus social media reduced the average attention span because nowdays i see people playing 4 new games in one week and not complete any ..where when i used to get a new game in the 2000s and ealy 2010s i would milk that game dry and try everythings possible and not possible and if i got stuck i persisted because they werent many tutorials and if you looked on the interent you would see videos on games get very little views compared to now but they had more passion and soul and those players were immersed because it was a small community made strictly of people who enjoyed games...but now that games are mainstream i see a lot of letsplays where the youtuber is just skipping dialogue and cutscenes not exploring the map fully and rushing the character creation ..ect sometime they claim to enjoy games and put on character and sometimes they go for the "im too cool to take games seriously and games should be played casually gimmick" basically saying they dont care while sadly continuing to play games adimitting to their guillible fans that its a passionless moneygrab hiding that behind cheap humor and the worst part is 2 days after the game came out you would see the final boss on their thumbnail in your feed spoiling it ...they are obviously some poeple who still immerse themselves in games comics and movies but they are very few and far in between and you have to really look for them

Great insight and quality video as always. Everything just comes out so fast these days that the window before people move on gets smaller and smaller.
