I suppose the Colosseum was the Hollywood of its time, replaced now with violent movies that depict the battles and conflicts with other nationalities and criminals. Times haven't changed so much, as they only stopped killing gladiators as they became more expensive due to shortages.

I wonder how many people who ended up in the arena were previous audience members.

The ring wall seems to low. A tiger or lion fighting against humans in those days could easily jump over this simulated wall and maul the crowd to death. Also, the ring ground is too round. The real Colosseum floor is more oval.
