I'm a T-12 L-1 paraplegic and been trying to find a practical but adequate way to carry my concealed H&K P30 SK 9mm while in my wheelchair. I'm in Ohio and called my local sheriff who notified me that its legal for open carry here but they dont recommend it due to the duma$$es who will scream bloody murder at just the sight of a pistol.

Very nice! What did he have to say about it?
@tymz-r-achangin8 ай бұрын
@@jeremyedwards1053 Open carry was the only thing the sheriff personally knew to give as an option. He didnt have any experience with holster options concerning concealed carry for people in wheelchairs.

Jeremy - please please take a class in pistol terminology. I ran this video to see if you had any new ideas on polishing a CHAMBER. Your title does say polished chamber and chrome trigger. You polished the barrel hood thats all. And ANYONE who would bring a loaded gun to a work bench deserves a NEGLIGENT discharge
@jeremyedwards10534 жыл бұрын
Ok first off, I never stated that I was a professional, and secondly I did polish the Chamber... it was the outside of it, so get over yourself. Also, clearly the gun wasn’t loaded🙄 Yes, the magazine had ammo in it but there was nothing in the chamber. That being said, if you need proffessional help then how about you call a gun shop rather than troll on someone’s KZbin.

Well done man! I’m considering options for how to mount on both of my chairs (both a manual & a power). And of course, both have different considerations but I have no desire to drill into my chairs (like many seem to want to do from the start). Also, carrying it on my actual person is impractical for me based on my daily living activities & needs. This would definitely be the most practical & easy to reach solution for me in my manual & I think you did a great job making it. I also noticed that a lot of people are asking “what will you do if you get separated from your chair?” Well, in my case, I’d be pretty much be screwed if so & I’d simply be right where I would have been had I not been carrying at all anyway. So something is better than nothing. Not all chair users are the same nor do we have the same issues. Just like our lives, we have to adapt & go w/ what works for us specifically.

I will not, under any circumstance, mount my gun anywhere on my chair. I know it's convenient and all but it takes nothing to dump me out of the chair and separate me from it. I store lots of other things on my chair though. I've tried shoulder holsters, waist packs, and all of that stuff. I've concluded that appendix carry works the best for me. Positive control of the firearm, easy access, AND nicely concealed. The only drawback is that I need to carry a gun that fits my body. If the gun it too big it prints like crazy and pokes to far in to my crotch. I carry a HK P30SK in a kydex IWB holster. Works flawlessly. The glock 43 works well too but I'm not a big fan of striker fire.

I don't mean to be a downer and I'm not running down your gear, but what happens if you're dumped out of your chair? For all intents and purposes, you're separated from your gun with no real hope of getting back to it. I'm also a wheelchair user, having earned my wheels after a fun filled year spent north of Baghdad. I carried all the time before my deployment. When I returned home in a sitting position I had to reassess my options. I used to carry a full size gun. I didn't see that as an option now. So I tried several different more compact designs before settling on what I use today. My next consideration was how to carry. I thought about something attached to my chair. I dismissed that after another wheelchair user, a true professional wheelchair trainer, asked me what I'd do if I were tossed from my chair. After trial and error, I decided on strong side carry at the 3:00 position. it offers me the best accessibility and concealment for my handgun. Even better, due to the positioning, I can conceal my gun without really concealing it. The chair back covers the gun quite well.
@jeremyedwards10536 жыл бұрын
I completely understand your thought process, and that same thing went through my mind as I was debating where/ how I wanted to conceal my weapon. The reason I chose to go the route I did is because I was having issues with my holsters rubbing my skin raw and the gun getting caught on my clothing. Since I'm a T-4 para, I can't feel below my chest or where it was rubbing and didn't want to risk creating a sore. I personally like the holster I made because it is very easy to access, it's out of the way, it doesn't get bunched up in my clothing, and I don't have to worry about any sores. I do hate the thought that someone could knock me out of my chair and I would be disarmed, but the chances of that happening are very slim in my opinion. (Not saying it couldn't happen). I just think in most scenarios that I will still have easy access to my gun, minus the one you mentioned. This is what worked best for me and my situation, so I thought I would share with others that might be facing the same issues. Thanks for your feedback!

Firstly. fantastic video thank you. it was because of this video my friend and i are going to try and give this mod a shot on our fs-10 ascend kayaks. We have been planning the project piece by piece but the one thing we can't figure out is the trailer hitch plug. are you able to direct us to what the plug is (maybe an Amazon link or something) and we're trying to understand how wiring the hitch works - any tips on that part as well would be great. in our case were looking to use minn kota c2 30lbs. please help! and thanks again!
@jeremyedwards10537 жыл бұрын
Awesome!!! That makes my day to hear that you are going to give this a try! I hope it works well for you. Feel free to contact me on Facebook for a faster reply. I don't always check my updates on here. My name is Jeremy Edwards. The trailer hitch plug is for a 5th wheel trailer or a heavy trailer that people use on cattle trailers. I bought mine off of etrailer.com . Make sure to by at least a 7 wire kit. PLEASE...keep me updated on how everything is turning out or send me some pics! It took me a lot of contemplating and thinking to get everything right. So don't hesitate to contact me for help. My biggest tip is to make sure you glue the threaded plugs with gorilla glue and to let them fully dry before tightening the bolts to the base. I couldn't figure out why the bolts wouldn't tighten. Also make sure to drill your holes in the base first, and then mark the holes on the kayak before drilling into it so that your holes and threads line up. Sorry for the late reply. Good luck on your project and please let me know how it turns out:)

Iraq/AfghanVet85 yeah I honestly don't know the laws on that stuff.
@robertbarber73438 жыл бұрын
Jeremy Edwards no particular law on it you can do whatever you want to your firearm, however all that stuff is relative. I have been in the law enforcement sector all my life retired now from combat injuries however just like someone like myself would not have as hard a time defending myself in court due to the fact that I am impaired or disabled the same applies to modifying your firearm. Hopefully it would be a clearly clean shoot from the start and then they wouldn't even bother taking your firearm USUALLY but thats is only if they're deciding not to press charges against you the police department that is, but if it was sketchy like a zimmerman type case they wouldn't hesitate using something like that against you. Just food for thought, same goes for loading your own ammunition or loading with exotic types of ammunition like that RIP junk by G2.
@robertbarber73438 жыл бұрын
did you change the trigger due to being a heavyish trigger pull, I haven't measured mine but I hear its between 7-9 lbs. mine does not feel that bad though actually at all its actually quite nice not like my kimber but it is crisp.
@jeremyedwards10538 жыл бұрын
Iraq/AfghanVet85 Actually no, I just switched it out for appearance, to match the chrome look of the polished chamber that I did before hand. I agree with you about the trigger pull. Mine doesn't feel quite that heavy, but my finger isn't a scale so I can't be precise. I can say it's much lighter and more crisp than my previous guns, a Ruger LCP and a Glock 43. This gun is by far the best gun I've yet to shoot. That goes to show I probably haven't shot the most expensive guns but it's definitely my favorite one so far.
@robertbarber73438 жыл бұрын
Jeremy Edwards its definitely a very nice piece I have the two tone one with black wood grips, I'm just a worry wart I wouldn't sweat on it unless its like a 2 lb pound trigger pull. I just picked mine up used a couple weeks ago I am an amputee on my right side so I have all my holsters specially made in west columbia south carolina at a place called Palmetto Leather Works. They do great work and they run from 139 to 149 for a custom leather holster thats actually considered a good deal for they type of stuff they do. They can also do exotic stuff like alligator and shark skin but you're gonna pay ! But between this gun and my kimber ultra carry ii its a close call my kimber didn't come with night sights which pisses me off but the trigger is definitely better than the sig, but the sig is much easier to conceal however you really cant compare them since the kimber is a 45 acp
@jeremyedwards10538 жыл бұрын
Iraq/AfghanVet85 well I do thank you for your service and time my friend, and I'm sorry to hear about your experience. I'm a paraplegic so I can relate somewhat. I wrecked my motorcycle 4 years ago doing 100mph with some friends and my bike got the speed wobbles. Check out my other youtube videos to see my story and a custom holster I made myself. I can't carry on my waist and stuff since I don't feel from my nipples down. I don't want to risk getting a sore. Those kimbers really do have an awesome trigger pull on the. I've felt a P238 trigger or on like it and it was super nice too.

Jeremy Edwards oh shit I hear ya yeah that sucks man I seen a guy on youtube that is a para and still rides I was like you are crazy ! I sent my folks the money wired to buy me a motorcycle while deployed and got blown up a week later. I sold it when I got back and put it towards a spyder and I still have it very easy to ride I have seen a couple of paras riding those as well. There is even a setup where you can take your wheelchair with you on the spyder ! I thought that was pretty cool. I am not wheelchair bound all day long I use a prosthetic when I leave the house but use my chair at home. We have been very lucky to have had the support of wonderful Americans that donate to homesforourtroops who built me an adapted 400 thousand dollar home in Chapin, SC. You can see my story at www.hfotusa.org/barber and I'll definitely check out yours as well. I actually shouldn't have survived at all a surgeon performed a heart massage on me or the manual pumping of the heart to restart it because I bled out and clinically died for an unknown amount of time really but we guessed around 10 minutes or so, we're all here for a reason brother !
