It's been almost 30 years since Duran Duran released their Thank You album. To be honest, the drum beat that Anthony played on "Ball of the Confusion" still deserves a Nobel Peace Prize. Of course, there are and have been many brilliant drummers in the world, but this beat is simply unforgettable because the whole game is so different. And often when I show it to drummers, they suddenly don't know what's going on :) It's worth a listen. And anyway, the whole album is brilliant, I can only recommend it to those who like to immerse themselves in the game of music.

Legendary and beautiful, but also bittersweet as this was likely the last time RP will ever perform this song. I just saw him perform June 7, 2024....he sounds amazing as ever even though his range is limited and he takes care to not push his voice too far. I wasn't even born when John died, but I'm still a huge fan of LZ and RP...I consider myself extremely fortunate to have been able to see RP perform live 3 times in the last 5 years. I hope I will get to see him again.

Hats off to a cancer journeyman like myself. It's just a hectic journey. I volunteered for cancer survivors but I don't need anyone's accolades. If I could conclude my journey this way I would be the happiest human ever. I always liked Andy's playing, I think he's better than many ppl think. And I'm a big Zep fan too. Ah geez. Hope you're doing ok buddy.

I can’t help but think bonham is looking down on his good friend smiling ear to ear that he’s keeping the band alive so many years after the fateful day. John is about the only musician that really shakes me when I think about “what is “but” what should never be.” I wish he could have been around longer and continued to grow so we drummers could learn even more than the drumming world did from his ideas. My hats off and I’ll die cranking bonham grooves.

Sadly, the voice just isn't there anymore. He definitely had it until a very short time ago, but it sounds frail, weak and struggling to hold a melody today. As recent as late 2017 he would have still been able to belt this song out, but 6 years at his age does take it's toll.
