Cool stuff. Obviously a few months ago. a couple questions I'd like answered are things like - That set covered how many square feet of area in the end how thick & what's the R value of that thickness. Did you cover it with a second layer or plan to? Certainly going to seal things up & keep the dew point in a place where it's supposed to be or won't cause condensation problems. How do you think it's standing up to real winter conditions?

That approach appears to be infinitely easier than, say, the whetstone approach. But because one needs a sanding device(machine) with a variety of grits on the belts, it’s likely more costly……. The Diamond stone approach is appealing but the recommendation is that 3 are required. And at just under $100 each, the cost is not insignificant, either. Decisions, decisions…….
@Hatchmade26 күн бұрын
This particular machine is definitely not cheap. You're in for around $1000 when you're all set up. To be honest I mostly use this for re grinding or if I'm going to sharpen a bunch of tools. Otherwise I use my water stones

I hired some Canadian framers who showed up with nothing but chainsaws. Before I just sent them home they explained they typically built this way because of remote locations and after framing the first floor deck if I thought the job was subpar they would leave and pay for any wasted lumber, They ended up framing that entire 5200 square foot house without ever plugging in a tool.
