Only thing that was off was the pump wires were flipped lol

Top strainer and fuel pressure regulator, wich I'd suggest should be cleaned if your cheaping out and not replacing that ,as they restrict fuel flow when dirty.

You should clean top strainer with some carb cleaner and rinse with clean petrol do not soak in carb cleaner and remove FPR and all orings if you do this ,just quik rinse if you are not replacing top strainer and FPR .

⁠​⁠@@99gpandy28mate, can I just replace the new fuel regular instead of cleaning it? Also, I see in Suzuki diagram the plastic housing which has pump motor inside is called “cup, reservoir”. Suppose that part also need to be cleaned or replaced? Both parts can be bought eom. Of course the “tea-bag” pre-filter needs to be cleaned or replaced as demonstrated in the video.

It's a nightmare

The check valve assembly typically comes with a hose attached to it, the other end attaches to the regulator. This kit come with the hose that attaches the fuel pump to the fuel filter. Those are the only hoses and attachments, and if your check valve didn't come with an extra clamp for the open end that goes to the filter you'll need one as this kit looks like it only comes with the two for that hose. With the pump and assembly being a rat's nest that spends it's life inside the gas tank it seemed confusing to me at first too, but it's a simple layout with only a few parts. There's got to be a better way to feed EFI but it's been this way for 20 years now and once you get over the head scratching and just go with it the process gets easier. Hang in there, you're almost back in the wind.

@@rondoironborn5419 I was saying I have the check valve assembly, not just the check valve, so yeah, it comes with its dedicated fuel line, which , I don't need. I need all the other hoses. I don't need a new pump but will buy one if I can be assured that all the hoses I need will be incuded. ..and you are so right this entire set up should be greatly simplified, they could easliy design this fuel system as one unit that you can get out of the tank very easily. In my research I saw and heard how systems differ somewhat but I did "Ass U Me" (lol) that they're all put together pretty much the same. I can tell you that an '04 Fat Boy only needs 2 hoses for which 4 clamps are needed, and I'm 99% sure the hoses are identical. The pain my 2 week project gave me faded away as I took my hog on a ride down a twisty trail yesterday but came raging back last night when I came across a website with a brand new complete system for $309 DELIVERED- (www.2040-parts.com/harley-davidson-fuel-pump-assembly-oem-75132-01b-new--i301727/) Between my HD Dealer and TriStarr for a sender that saved me $120 I spent over $700 and 3 hours on mine! I coulda been riding last weekend with an extra $400 in my pocket and not have the pain in my @$$ from HD not even use'n lube when they bent me over! @@rondoironborn5419 Thanks bro, I got it sorted out, busted fuel line, but sadly 'they' sent me the wrong or defective check valve assembly, r and r'd hours of work, for not... ha ha... oh well, good practice I guess.
