Donny, it looks to me as if Hamsho was deliberately trying to twist your left arm in the clinches. I came to watch this after seeing Rich the Fight Historian's great feature on your bout with Carlos "The Force" Tite!

If he fought micheal spinks around this time period it would be a nightmare if ray Leonard did that to him imagine a natural lhw like spinks arguably one of the top 5 lhws of all time

Who was the interviewer of Czyz? I believe this interviewer used to host a live boxing TV show on FNN Score during the late 80s. I know it was live because I used to call in with comments and they put me on the air more than a couple of times.

I can say from experience that when you have shoulder surgery on your left side, you cannot get back the snap in the jab and power is lost from the left hook no matter how much rehab is done. Surgery years ago, was very iffy compared to today. LaLonde certainly couldn't do much with his left hand.

Referee Arthur Mercante didn't do his job well. More points should've been taken away from Hamsho and a disqualification in the 11th round. 118-108 was a fair score with Lalonde winning.

It wasn't about the money. It was just a situation of over training. I could have come in 5 lbs heavier. Over did the training. Stepped on the scales at 163...put coins, keys etc to increase weight so ray didn't know pre fight, but all my bad..

Glad you're doing well. Boxing is such a dangerous sport, and people who fought at your level often don't have good health after retirement. It's nice to see the fighters I watched when I was a kid still doing well.

Interesting fact about the company that handled the pay per view and closed circuit TV rights for this fight. The company that handled those responsibilities was Titan Sports. That name may not ring a bell with people but it (at the time) was the corporate name for a company that helped usher in PPV events. Titan Sports was the parent company of the then World Wrestling Federation. So Vince McMahon handled the television rights via PPV and closed circuit broadcasts. FWIW the host was Roy Firestone who at the time had a good talk show on ESPN that was called Up Close(or would later be called that)
