Thank you Samuel. He was one tough cookie. I enjoyed the fight but I tell you I could NOT move for a few days after. It was the most physical fight of my career for sure...

A fantasy fight, or wrestling match: Hamsho vs Hatton, both in their prime, same weight, 15 rounds.

I can say from experience that when you have shoulder surgery on your left side, you cannot get back the snap in the jab and power is lost from the left hook no matter how much rehab is done. Surgery years ago, was very iffy compared to today. LaLonde certainly couldn't do much with his left hand.

I almost retired just before this fight because how bad my left shoulder was. I did what I could with it..but yes, not much..more a distraction...

@@doniutube I am honored by your reply and can agree my left shoulder surgery was a disaster even at the lower level of boxing that I did.

Really good fight. I never knew they fought each other. I've only seen LaLonde against Leonard. LaLonde had skills. Hamsho was a strong, very tough fighter.

Hamsho was very tough and could fight. Really enjoyed this one.

Hamsho was more of a brawling dirty fighter , but Marvin Hagler taught him a good lesson twice ... I believe that in the first fight Hagler beat his face so bad that Hamsho needed 50 stitches

Referee Arthur Mercante didn't do his job well. More points should've been taken away from Hamsho and a disqualification in the 11th round. 118-108 was a fair score with Lalonde winning.

I was gutted when lalonde retired after the sugar ray fight although he did make a comeback I felt he was then last his prime.

True probably but still had lots left to have fun with. My crushed larynx from the Leonard fight made post fight 100% “put it on the line” more difficult

Donny, it looks to me as if Hamsho was deliberately trying to twist your left arm in the clinches. I came to watch this after seeing Rich the Fight Historian's great feature on your bout with Carlos "The Force" Tite!

Who was the interviewer of Czyz? I believe this interviewer used to host a live boxing TV show on FNN Score during the late 80s. I know it was live because I used to call in with comments and they put me on the air more than a couple of times.
