Ngl I play it to listen to deep cover as like a lil in between “you did it!!! Hoorayyy!!!” The colors are really nice too.

Both hotline miami games are some of my favorite games, and even pieces of media out there. This video does such a good job delving into exactly why the games are so important to me and I feel so justified seeing so many others feel the same about the games. But all I can focus on is your "DRACULA FLOW" shirt because I was literally wearing that exact shirt whilst watching this video and it made my eyes pop out of my head like a fuckin cartoon character

So basically hotline Miami taught you stoicism? Make sense, I can relate to your thoughts about death and experienced a near death experience and that changed my perspective on death upon feeling what's it's like and knowing it's not the end but perhaps a new begininng. I don't know

the thing about part four: i havent really lost anyone in the 19 years i've been alive. it's hard to imagine to lose someone, and i mean hard as in "i dont know how it is" comparably, it's trivial, but there was a game that i liked and ending in a very big cliffhanger (this was supposedly the first part of the story). the developers werent continuing for presumably being busy with life (anecdotal), it's such a shame because the mechanics are very good. but, it's life, just move along

I have literally never played a game so violent that made me so genuinely introspective. You get whipped up into a frenzy by the visual mania but at the end there’s always this… harrowing feeling. The sobriety after an adrenaline binge or like coming off of a fucked stimulant trip. And then the game dumps you off on a scoreboard and you’re reminded of just how absolutely fucked you just acted. Blew my 18 year old mind when i played it first.

Honestly, same. That line specifically, at the end: “Leaving this world is not as scary as it sounds.” That, just made me so desensitized to death over all, that I just kinda stopped to care about it.

Hotline Miami got me hooked because of the story and atmoshere. I just assumed it would be a straight forward top down shooter, but I got ot on sale, both games for PS3, Vita and PS4 for 7 bucks. I heard it was good and mostly bought just have it on the collection, then after I actuallt played it, became a huge fan.

Payday 2 Jacket is either an AU version in which the events of Hotline Miami 2 never took place or simply the same jacket and the events of Hotline Miami 2 simply *haven’t* happened yet. (Kind of like how Jimmy exists in the game)

oddly enough, the only death in the series that fucks with me is Richter. He got peace before he died just to be melted to death by a nuclear blast wave. Got all he wanted once he was thrust into a shit life, to escape it and give him and his ailing mom a nice vacation AWAY from Miami. He fucking won, and when Death (Richard) came to talk to him about how he going to die, you just see him with this bizarre degree of resignation, as if he understood the meta point of the whole story, simply accepting all of it at face value. Even Richard seems surprised at Richter's self-awareness and worldview. What a great sentiment, right? None of this acceptance saves him or his mother. That's the part that fucks with me the most. No happy endings.

Btw mewing is litterly the natural tongue position. Its such a well researched topic but it gets 0 recognitopn from the mainstream orthodontic world, many teeth deformaties are caused by lifestyle . Many studies having been done on cranofacial development when subjects are fed "traditional diet"and "mordern diet". People who ate traditional diet had more developed face in general. Mewing is just the tip of the iceberg

Thank you for taking the time to make the joke about initially not realizing the narrative and just enjoying the violent gameplay BEFORE the narrative really started to set in. I think that perfectly shows what the game and its goal was - to highlight violence in video games and bring us to question our attraction to it despite our real world perversion from it. The fact that the game was designed in a way to bring you naturally to that conclusion is in my opinion a perfect example of something unique the video game medium can do. And yet, ironically, it was the highlight of "violent videogames cause violence" crowd of the time.
