Yes it is! We opt to do as much from the ground as possible in order to reduce the risk of struck-bys to an aerial operator. Helene left a mess!

Kubota tech here, super udt and super udt2 is mainly for tractors. Your machine needs HD46 hydraulic fluid. You can use a generic but I wouldn’t recommend as off brands contain zinc and kubota hd46 is zinc free

Hey! I’m honestly not sure, as I’ve never seen a fake one. It is best to order the helmets from a reputable dealer! We bought ours from Treestuff.com.

The cut should have been a wedge shape?
@sirensproject6 ай бұрын
There was definitely things that could have been done different. A little speculation, but it appears the tree was being pulled based on how slow the decent began. Too thick of a hinge will cause resistance to bending and cause barber-chairing. General rule of thumb is a maximum hinge thickness of 10% of the trees diameter at breast height. Bore cutting to set the hinge depth also helps prevent a barber chair situation. Thank you for your comment!

Wow! That is a very kind donation, and for a very worthy cause. The work you guys do is heaven sent. Blessings 🙏

UDT fluid is for tractors not excavators.

Don’t just back cut the tree oh my heavens 😅
@sirensproject6 ай бұрын
There was a 70 degree open face notch placed in the detection of lay allowing the tree to hinge. A bore cut allows you to establish hinge thickness before releasing the back strap. This prevents barber chairing. If this tree was only back cut without a face notch it surely would have barber chaired. The pulled fiber on the back cut was due to the back strap release being a little too far away from the initial bore cut.
