Wow, seems to be a lot of work to repair the rust damage, but luckily new sheet metal is easy to get :D Probably car specific spare parts are nowdays not so easy to find? I remember replacing the front right lower ball joint as well to my 1982 323 back in the 90's. Left one was replaced a bit earlier. Then 4-wheel alignment, was really good to drive after that :)

You are right the specific part's are really hard to find at least in Europ. Regarding rust, I will say it like this, the other side on the front isn't better. But I will start working on the car again in few days, because I need this site finished soon and put the car on the ground again for moving it. I don't know but the 80's vibe off this car is so great. I even thinking about to do a full respray in a painting Booth. @@mrjsv4935 Thank you. It is great to have so beautiful memories and then get also the car for your self. I have the same memories where my father drove us in a green Fiat 125 PZ. And I always wanted to get the same car, and almost got one. But then I decided to go my own way with the car's. Although if I find one again I will probably still buy it because I have great memories, like once my father drove through one puddle and water splashed on the ignition Sparks what caused that the engine shut down. Then my father had to remove each sparkplug ti clean them so that we could drive further. Oh the memories. This Mazda 323 had before only two owner's, and in one family (father and son). Therefore it is a privilege when for me to own it and that's why is in the garage and not the ax gti or other car. Cadillac sts: notoriously bad cars, poor build quality typical of Cadillac and the renowned Northstar v8 with the exploding intake manifold. chevrolet s10 gmc s15: very common during the days of American made minitrucks. The flaresides were sold typically as the "extreme" no differences mechanically but esthetically they had a ground effex kit and were lower and factory wheels were larger. Citroën zx: something us in canada never got, we did have a period in the early 90s when we could still get French cars but they for the most part all left at the same time (Renault, Citroën and Peugeot). I think the assassination of the president of Renault really set into motion the pullout from the north American market. Edit: that man really loves his xsaras Gmc S15 jimmy: not to be confused with the gmc Jimmy which was a full sized truck based on the 1 ton truck chassis and not the smaller s series trucks. Typically they came with a terrible 2.8 litre v6 and optional with an automatic or manual and 2 door and 4 door like we see here. The last few years were available with the 4.3 lithe v6 because of jeeps Cherokee which was introduced with a 4.0 inline 6. I'm currently swapping a v8 into my s15 jmmy I don't know what those s series trucks sell for in your country but even her in North America it's north of 5000$ now

That’s going to be a cool ride. I wish the manufacturers would send some compact 4x4s stateside. It wasn’t long ago that several did. Then I found also a small Daihatsu Core 4x4, but they are getting expensive. And I also found a Subaru Vivio 4x4. But this small 4x4 car's are dieing out and are hard to find. And frankly the new 4x4 car's, even if they are small are crappy because there is too much electronic involved what raises also the gas consumption. If you find a good small 4x4 then I can only advice you to take it, but search first for part's availability. I know the feeling what you mean. I found the regular drive shafts on German eBay or autodoc from England. In Europe there was no Turbo BD 323 for what I Know so I would not know regarding the driveshafts. But maybe I am also mistaking. But I found once a 1986 Mazda 323 BF turbo for part's only. The problem what I accounted is that depending for what market the Mazda 323 was there were also so many different versions. What makes the finding of the part's even harder. I have the problem with the shock absorbers. Can't find any decent one's. My only hope is interchangeable Part's from other Mazdas. For your situation bI believe that a 1.5 Mazda 323 BF Turbo driveshafts would fit. I am hoping that some small mechanical parts from Mazda 626 would fit, because I want to upgrade the brake's. The door locks what I bought are same for Mazda 626 and Mazda RX7. If you are from New Zealand or Australia then you have also the option the Ford Laser. But if you are from Europe like me then this is not an option. The last resort option would be finding a longer driveshaft from Mazda where the ends with the diameter and teeth's are same as on yours and then you shorten the driveshafts in a machine shop. A college off mine did this for his Turbo project. I need to check on internet if the driveshaft joints are same between 323 and 626 Mazda. I also sure there must be a simpler solution for your problem but the issues what to search for in this moment. My focus will be on Mazda 626 part's. It would be also interesting if you have a car part store nearby. And If they can filter the driveshafts in there internal inventory program on the driveshaft joint diameter and number of teeth's only. This would give you a car's list from which you could start searching. Ignore the middle diameter off the driveshaft and the length for now. Sooner or later I will have also to look for driveshafts in my case if I want to upgrade the brake's and knuckles. Ironic I was looking for the Mazda 323 BF Turbo brakes 😅. Guess I can scrap that Idea now. The problem is also that very few want to ship the part's international. That's why I can not get the part's from Austria or New Zealand where are they plenty. But don't give up you will sure find a way. Sorry that I couldn't give you any good information. Let me know If you find a solution. If you are in Instagram let me know because there I can send link's in case that I find Turbo part's.

I only know that I found not long ago a universal break light same as I have, and it was from Hella.

It's not a hearse but a passenger car. It's on a private undisclosed location but way further from the country's what you wrote.

It was a long Road Trip for getting the Project Car's Part's but everything has a purpose, specially the secret project borrowed part and the Citroen Sport filter kit. If you want to be first to know what will happen next then you know what to do. And for the end there you have it and Cabo Fiba, if you know then you know 😂.

where do you live? can you drive on the road legaly like this?
@L.C.A.car_adventure_channel
@L.C.A.car_adventure_channel 2 жыл бұрын
Small country Slovenia. There are some ways how can you drive legally but some are in the gray area. But the best way is to drive with temporarily license plates. I don't know what law's you have in your country but search for dealership license plates and similar. For example have the German's the red temporarily license plates and with that you can have a Jet engine in the car if you want it. But afcourse there are also limitations to it like everywhere. But remember temporarily license plates will eventually cost you more on the long term. I hope I could give you more information. But remember, no matter what license plate you have, the car must be road worthy and safety is the priority.

@@L.C.A.car_adventure_channel Well if safety is the priority, then I would not drive an Ax in the first place. But in Switzerland the rules in this case are quite strict, so you dont have this many options.

@@tims.701 I fully agree that the ax is not safe in general but in my opinion as any other small car. But now that you wrote Switzerland, I can only say that's a whole another story. Yes I know Switzerland is very strict regarding law and in your case I wouldn't even try to do something what's not according to the law in your country because the penalties are pretty severe. The perfect car for me in Switzerland is some Oldtimer what is in good condition and then just enjoy the road with it. I can still remember an old documentary year's back where the Police stoped everyone from Germany right when they crossed the border because they were all to fast or to loud. I could drive the AX with my plates in Switzerland but gently as possible. By the way, what car are you driving?

@@L.C.A.car_adventure_channel I had my driving test last summer (im 19 now). So until now, I just drove the cars from my father . My father is also a Citroen fan and owns multiple ds/cx/xm … Last year he gave me an old Gsa Palace, we fixed the car together and thats the car that i have been daily driving till now, at least in the summer. But for my 100% own first car im planning to buy an Ax Gti aswell. I learned driving with the Ax Gti from a cousin (one of 3 registred in CH) and i just love the feeling of the car. Because there are no Gti left in switzerland, I will have to import one, but I cant spend more then 3-4k for the Car, because I still have to pay the tax for car imports and I still have to register it, this is also not cheap here if the car is not originaly from CH. As soon as I find a good car for the right price, I will buy it, but till then I will drive the slow GSa, which is also quite fun because of the suspension but just not sporty enough for me personally. Im not a big fan of the tuned look of the Ax, I like the classic look, just lowered, new exaust and maybe new weels. Otherwise I would leave the car original.

@@tims.701 Understand what you mean. I am more in to the old Citroen's, exactly what you drive and your father owns👍. Afcourse when I was younger it was like in your case now. I was searching for the AX GTI in all Europe when I had time. After finding one slightly damaged in Germany for 1500€ I almost bought it. Then I found a red one also for 1500€ in Austria but hesitated and it was sold. Then I planned to put the 1.4 engine in my former 1.1 ax and got the engine for it also. But then I found a guy who was selling 3x the ax GT in good to bad condition but very cheap. I went back and forth because he had also an Hungarian buyer who competed with me. Until the seller told me he has also 3x GTI. And the rest is history and the private barn find videos on KZbin 😂. The AX GTI are hard to find but the friend still sells his what is also in one of the videos what I filmed. But the price is little high. Then I found another GTI what I am still deciding if I should buy it but it's all original. I also like the original AX GTI more but my was already modified when I bought a crashed one, so I had to go with that theme on the budget. If you have Instagram then you can contact me there for more information about the AX GTI. But go watch my all videos on car spotting "massive private car collection". They are few parts and in 1 or 2 is the AX GTI for sale also inside.

Hi, where did you buy the headlights and bumpers?
@L.C.A.car_adventure_channel
@L.C.A.car_adventure_channel 2 жыл бұрын
Sadly the headlights are hard to get nowadays. I got lucky and bought them from the guy who sold me the car but they still need some work because they are not complete. Search for Musketier Tuning Citroen AX aftermarke part's or Postert Tuning. The car already had the aftermarket bumper as I mounted it on the end but in the same color as the car itself. But it was damaged during the crash and needs repairs, the dark blue one I got also as a spare from the previous owner and it's from the Postert Tuning company. There is also one what is even lover and it's usually mounted ot the AX what are used for hill climbin races and time attacks. Or you try to find the original AX GTI or GT bumper, they are also great. The same bumper was on my bought 5 door AX versions where I also have the video. I hope that helped and you can find what you are looking for and thanks for watching the video.

You are right. I made a mistake not to buy them when they were cheap and near me for 150€. Then I found brand new ones for 350€ and I sad no way that I am paying so much. In the end I bought them in pieces with missing parts for 100€, because the new one's were not available anymore.

Yes, it was overwhelmed for me and I couldn't even tell the models although I just like the Citroen's. The owner also sold few days back a Citroen BX 4x4, just a beautiful car. I am lucky that I could get my dream car from him, and the owner is a really nice guy. Thanks for watching the video, and hope you will enjoy also other parts. Someday this year I will do also an update on that place because I need also to pick up some parts from there.
